Re: Developing Gabe

Hello All,

First off, appologies for the book plates. I want to assure you all
that I have you ALL listed with your addresses in an Excel file. I
WILL follow through as soon as I am able. It is not that I have not
had the time--it is that I have not "taken" the time. Appologies,
again.

As to subsequent novels . . . I had a contract for my second
novel, "Prophets Reborn" but my agent failed to successfully
negotiate that contract with my publisher--put me way out of their
bidding. Subsequent to that, she basically sat on "Prophets Reborn"
with my refusal to integrate some of the changes she demanded. Both
my Editor and first-pass editor said to NOT make the changes--in that
it would ruin and gut the book. So, undaunted :-) I finished my 3rd
Gabe Turpin book, "The Fallen Angels of Eden" fired my agent and am
negotiating a two-book deal with my publisher (for both Prophets &
Fallen Angels).

"Prophets Reborn" takes place, for the most part, in the Shingon
Buddhist monasteries of Koyasan, Japan. There are a lot of good dojo
scenes as well as fight scenes in the book. For those of you who
have read "Dreams of the N'dorobo," Jimmy is back in this book, large
and in charge--and if anything, even more profane :-). There is one
scene in the book where the Pope, the Grand Ayatolah Karzai and the
Dali Lama are all in one room! Imagine if the world's religions
would have to "get along" in order to face a common evil! I had our
own Sara Aoyama run sweep on the book to correct my lame-ass
romanji. So, she's read #2.

The first part of the third book "The Fallen Angels of Eden" takes
place in the Great Ruins of Zimbabwe and then, Kenya. The story then
shifts mostly to Ecuador. In this book, and for the first time, I
have a major character who is . . . female--Angilica Atahualpa. I
had to really get in touch with . . . my feminine side :-) Chris,
Hank, don't go there :-) And Daisy, no, I didn't do that either. :-)
Sara? Yes, I DID do that :-)

Anyway, thank you all for supporting my books and hence, the ol'
Sugar Boy. Yeah, yeah--you'll get your book plates :-)

Best!
Gary G.
