When you attend the San Antonio Highland Games & Celtic Music Festival you can watch the incredible feats of strength by competitors who travel the globe to participate in our world class Heavy Scottish Athletics. Outside of the Athletics, while visiting the San Antonio Highland Games, you will enjoy a large variety of traditional Scottish foods and entertainment. Choose from 4 stages of musical entertainment, storytelling, and traditional Celtic dancing. Explore the festival grounds to see merchants selling traditional Celtic wares including jewelry, tartans, swords, and art. Bring your children to the Kid's Glen for fun and exciting games that explore Scottish traditions. For more competition, watch the sheep-herding competition and listen to the area's finest pipers in the bag-piping contest. Unique to the games is the Celtic dogs on display and of course one can't miss all the wonderful traditional living history demonstrations throughout the event!

Visitors to the San Antonio Highland Games & Celtic Music Festival have many options for cultural entertainment. We have Scottish and Irish dancers who perform all day at The Lion & Rose stage. For 2012, we are adding a 3rd music stage to expand our offering of music ranging from traditional tunes to Celtic rock. We are bringing back our fan favorite Needfire, a Celtic Rock band as well as introducing some great bands that are new to the San Antonio Highland Games & Celtic Music Festival. Information about all of our musical entertainment is available at www.sahga.org. Guests can visit our Living History area to learn more about the lives of ancient Celts through World War II. The Viking Invasion battles, a demonstration of fighting skills, is a must see for children and adults alike.
