RE: [ryanownersclub] Re: Is this a ryan?

Paint job looks 'after-market' and not the best quality.  Seat block arrangement and handlebars are not Ryan quality as I know it to be.  The seat is not what appears to be a Ryan-fabricated seat, either.

This appears to be a definite knock-off of the Ryan design.  If it works -- fine, but definitely don't try to sell (or buy) it as a Ryan 'Vanguard' IMHO.  It may be a re-rigged DeFelice (i.e. seat geometry changed and steering cables replaced with a seat handlebar block and steering torque tube).

Side view of the bike has the general appearance of a Vanguard, but it may be a 'knock-off' (there were several copy designs made in the world, as the Vanguard was not patented).
