RE: [ryanownersclub] Re: Vanguard for Sale

I HAVE A RYAN RECUMBENT WHICH I BROUGHT IN 1985 IN OKINAWA JAPAN FROM A TEACHER WORKING FOR DoDDS. The label still on the frame is from 58 Lyle St Mallen MA.  I know it is a pre 1985 frame but do not have any information as to when Ryan Recumbent was making frame in Mallen, MA.

Can anyone provide any information on this frame?

Jose

I can't either.

Simply based on the timeline contained on the owner web site, where
bikes were coming out of Oregon between the end of 1991 and the Fall of
1994, and my Vanguard has the Oregon address and phone number sticker on
it, that gives me a circa period.

Cheers,

Paul

I have an older Vanguard for sale; I bought the bike used 9 years ago and have put a couple-K miles on it. The mesh seat is two or three years old; one year...

$900 for a used Vanguard sounds about right. The rewelded seat lowers the value but the racks and accessories may raise it back to about that level....

In my curious effort to date your bike I was wondering if you know the serial number. My Vanguards serial number is 00405 and was sold by my LBS in 1996. You...

You are fortunate to have a serial number. Many bikes were apparently produced without them (Dick told me once that serial numbers are not required for...

As far recovering it after it has been stolen you can stamp any set of unique numbers. Law Enforcement will simply treat it as an owner unique number. You can...

True and any unique set of numbers will do. They don't have to be something the manufacturer stamped on them for the item to be entered by Law Enforcement. ...
