Siena President Giovanni Lombardi Stronati has been given a cold shower by Ronaldo’s agent who says there is no chance of the Brazilian striker signing for the Robur.

Stronati had offered Ronaldo an unconventional package whereby he would pay the 32-year-old £80,000 every time he found the net.

“There is no chance,” Ronaldo’s agent told Globoesporte. “Every President wishes to have a player like Ronaldo in their team and we thank Siena again for their interest.

“With all due respect to Siena, after struggling for nine months to recover from injury, Ronaldo cannot go to a club that is fighting against relegation.”

The former Inter and Real Madrid phenomenon has been training with Flamengo since Milan released him earlier this year following yet another serious knee injury.

Meanwhile, Siena are twelfth in Serie A and beat high-flying Fiorentina at the weekend. They travel to Lazio this Sunday.

Former Milan star Ronaldo is still recovering from his devastating knee injury and is weighing up his next move, but assures that he will fight his way back into the Selecao and play at the 2010 World Cup.

The 32-year-old Brazilian's career seemed to be over after he severed a knee tendon during the Rossoneri's Serie A game against Livorno last February, the umpteenth setback of a career blighted by a series of injuries.
His contract with the Diavoli expired in June and was not renewed, but the Fenomeno returned to action by playing and scoring in a friendly game with Flamengo's youth team last month, and he does not seem willing to call it a day just yet.
"I feel great now," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport, "this is a good moment for me and the rehabilitation is going really well. If I compared this injury to the other I suffered to the right knee, I have to admit that after eight months I did not feel as good. I will probably resume training with Flamengo next Monday.
"There is a connection between me and Flamengo, they are my favourite team and hope I can settle down here, but this will remain just a dream, for I don't think I'm going to make any decision now."
Ronnie has received important offers from French side Paris Saint Germain and Premier League outfit Manchester City, but he confesses that his future is still unclear.
"Paris is a wonderful city that I adore, and Psg have a good project to land the Ligue 1 title," mused the marksman, "as for City, my good friend Robinho is there, but there is nothing concrete yet, we talked about this option a few days ago. However, it is still too soon, I'm just thinking of completing my comeback now."
Ronaldo had also kind words for another dear friend, Adriano, who seems rejuvenated at San Siro this term.
"I'm happy for him," he enthused, "he has always been a great champion, even when things were not going so well for him."
The Brazilian has notoriously played for both Milan sides, but when asked to name the team that still holds a place in his heart he just uttered "see you soon" and scrammed.

Brazilian legend Ronaldo could be on the verge of a move to Manchester City, with the Daily Telegraph claiming that the former Milan man has held talks with the Premiership club over a possible transfer.

The 31-year-old free agent is currently recovering from injury after he severed a tendon in his knee playing for Milan against Livorno in February.

After a successful operation in Paris, it was revealed that he would be out of action for at least nine months. Ronaldo’s rehabilitation is said to be going well, and well ahead of schedule, but after his contract at Milan expired at the end of June, the Italian club refused to offer him a new deal.

Now a free agent, Ronaldo has been linked to a number of clubs, including Flamengo, but the Daily Telegraph claims that El Fenomeno could be set for a sensational move to Man City.

The Blues are looking for a big international name, for commercial reasons, and there are few bigger in the game than Ronaldo, who is a three time FIFA World Player of the Year, and the top scorer in the history of the World Cup.

The Telegraph claims that Ronaldo has held informal talks over a possible move before the end of this week, but first the Brazilian must prove his fitness, as there are concerns over his weight.

City's executive chairman Garry Cook appeared to admit an imminent move for Ronaldo when he told the Telegraph: “I've got to change the culture here. Today you can grow quicker than it took Manchester United. We just need a superstar.

“China and India are gagging for football content to watch and we're going to tell them that City is their great content.

“We are a global franchise entity. We told [manager] Mark Hughes not to come here if he thought we didn't need a superstar.”

Man City failed earlier this summer in their bid for one superstar – Ronaldinho. Now they could succeed in a move for his compatriot and former namesake Ronaldo.

Italian football is in mourning after Treviso and Sampdoria midfielder Gionata Mingozzi was tragically killed in a car crash earlier this morning.

The talented 23-year-old was involved in a head-on collision between his Porsche and a lorry near Venice.

The crash took place at around 8am as the Ravenna native was on his way to undergo a medical ahead of pre-season training in Austria.

“It is with the deepest sorrow that we will mourn with his family, friends and all who have had the privilege of knowing him during his tragically short life,” a statement on the club’s website reads.

Mingozzi was co-owned by Sampdoria and made his Serie A debut with the Blucerchiati before spending the last two seasons with Lecce and Treviso in Serie B.

Legendary Brazilian footballer Ronaldo has reached new heights – or perhaps widths – of greatness, The Sun’s exclusive image reveals…

Some may have been hoping to see a more streamlined El Fenomeno, working hard on the training track with the aim of making a speedy recovery from his latest knee problem.

The 31-year-old, who steered the Selecao to their fifth World Cup in 2002, has been out of action since rupturing ligaments in his left knee while playing for AC Milan in February.

But snaps taken of the ex-Real Madrid striker during his holiday in Ibiza suggest he has been hitting the nightclubs and restaurants of the Mediterranean rather than the gym.

Ronaldo is the quintessential wayward Brazilian, a forerunner to compatriots Ronaldinho and Adriano – incendiary talents all who have been unable to control their urges off the pitch.

The former Barcelona and Internazionale man has always bounced back before, but at his age and in the condition he is in – well, even the most die-hard fan would have to concede that his time among Europe’s elite has well and truly passed.

Ronaldo’s Serie A career appears to be over after Flamengo announced an agreement with the out of contract Milan star.

“We have a deal with the players’ agent,” confirmed President Marcio Braga in Globoesporte newspaper.

“As soon as he has recovered from the injury, we will sit around a table and complete the paperwork.”

Il Fenomeno has been out of action since suffering a devastating knee tendon injury in February and in that time his contract with the Rossoneri expired.

As he is still battling for fitness and was also involved in a blackmail scandal with transsexual prostitutes while in Brazil for rehabilitation, Milan opted to wait for the situation to develop before committing to another season.

“Flamengo’s medical staff are personally following his physical progress,” added Braga.

“Ronaldo will be this club’s top priority.”

The striker turns 32 in September, but his career has been blighted by a series of injuries.

If he does sign for Flamengo, it will be his first non-European club since Cruzeiro in 1993-94.

He has worn the jerseys of PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona, Inter, Real Madrid and Milan.

According to Spanish newspaper As, PSV Eindhoven want to re-sign crocked Brazilian star Ronaldo.

Ronaldo¢s future is uncertain as he is currently a free agent. Indeed for a while his whole career was believed to be in jeopardy after he severed a tendon in his knee playing for Milan against Livorno in February.

After a successful operation in Paris, it was revealed that he would be out of action for at least nine months, although a more likely return date was said to be in 2009.

Although Ronaldo¢s rehabilitation is said to be going well, and well ahead of schedule, Milan have refused to offer him a new deal to the contract that ran out at the end of June.

This means that El Fenomeno is now unattached, although there are still some sections of the press who believe that Milan are prepared to hand him a new deal once he proves his fitness.

Nevertheless, As claims that PSV have contacted Ronaldo to try and convince him to return to Eindhoven.

The 31-year-old played for the Dutch giants from 1994 to 1996, and was a massive hit, scoring 42 goals in just 45 games, before moving to Barcelona.

The transfer will be complicated though, as there are also reports that Ronaldo has an agreement with Brazilian club Flamengo.

Milan’s outspoken vice president, Adriano Galliani, has decided to keep hob-nobbing with Ronaldo and he is willing to give the Brazilian another chance.

Ronaldo has been woeful ever since his move from Real Madrid last year. A knee ligament injury in February threatened to end his career and, as a result, the Rossoneri decided not to renew his contract.

However, Galliani has thrown his hat into the ring again and he admits that he is wiling to give Ronaldo another chance on certain conditions; that he eats less and loses weight.

“I have tried to call Ronaldo on his mobile but he is not answering,” said Galliani.

“Ronaldo has the sympathy from everyone at Milan and, to be honest, he needs to lose some weight.   “He has to train hard and prepare himself as well as make sacrifices.

“Therefore, if the conditions are right, we well see what we can do with him.”

Ronaldo is currently a free agent but it’s unlikely that another club wll come in for the star given his proness to injury as well as his unstable knees and, of course, his rich calorific diet.

Brazilian striker Ronaldo¢s contract at Milan has expired and reports suggest that El Fenomeno¢s time at San Siro is over.

The 31-year-old hitman¢s career seemed to be over when he severed a tendon in his knee while playing for the Rossoneri against Livorno in February.

However, after a successful operation and rehabilitation, Ronnie is ahead of schedule on the road to recovery and is ready to restart training.

Milan initially hinted that they would stand by the former Inter man if he managed to get back to shape and would offer him a new deal.

But a sex scandal in Brazil damaged Ronaldo¢s reputation and the player has suggested that he would be more comfortable playing for Flamengo in his homeland.

Although UOL Esporte reports that Milan are considering bringing Ronnie back, sources in Italy suggest that the Diavolo are happy to part company with the top goal scorer in World Cup history.

The crucial factor may be Milan¢s search for a new striking star, which seems to have reached a dead end after top target Emmanuel Adebayor rejected a move.

The contract of crocked Brazilian striker Ronaldo has not been renewed by Milan, as the club wants to wait and see if El Fenomeno recovers fully from injury.

The career of El Fenomeno was believed to be in doubt after he severed a tendon in his knee playing against Livorno in February.

After a successful operation in Paris, it was revealed that he would be out of action for at least nine months, although a more likely return date was said to be in 2009.

Although Ronaldo’s rehabilitation is said to be going well, and well ahead of schedule, Milan have been hesitant to offer him a new contract just yet. The 31-year-old’s contract at San Siro actually expired yesterday, meaning that he is now a free agent.

UOL Esporte has reported that Milan are still following the progress of Ronaldo’s recovery closely, and could offer him a new deal once he proves his fitness.

However there have been reports to the contrary, in the Italian press recently, that Milan have no intention of offering the former Real Madrid and Barcelona star a new contract, so it is very possible that we have indeed seen the last of Ronaldo in a Rossoneri shirt.

AC Milan star and Brazilian international Kaká talked about his eagerness to get back on the pitch after his knee operation and his hope of seeing his injured countryman and team mate Ronaldo back on the pitch with the Milan shirt.

"In about 10-15 days I will be able to play again," he said. "The national team? I love playing for them and everytime I wear the Auriverde's shirt I always give my best.

"Ronaldo? I really hope to see him play with Milan again, I think he can make it and I hope to be able to play alongside him again."

On the difficulties of the Brazilian national team and the criticism aimed at coach Carlos Dunga in this last period, he said: "Last year Brazil won the Copa America, but the criticisms were there just the same. It's normal that there are periods in which things don't go that well, like for Brazil right now, but these are things you have to accept, they are part of football and of sports."

Brazilian legend Ronaldo admits that he is disappointed with the way Milan have treated him since his career threatening injury in February. The striker is making a good recovery but he has grumbled after not hearing from the club.

The player has slowly made progress with his recovery as he continues with rehabilitation but he is not too happy with the lack of communication he has received from Milan.

Reports claim that his relationship with the Rossoneri maybe over when he finally recovers and it seems as if the player himself has had enough of being left in the lurch.

“Milan have not made me any promises, every now and then I hear from Leonardo but that’s it,” Ronaldo told Stadio News.

“I would have liked to hear from the club a little more.”

Ronaldo’s future at Milan is uncertain and it seems as if the club will only take him back if he makes a full recovery.

He may go on to play in Brazil if he does not return to Serie A but there have been reports that he could move to English side Queens Park Rangers who, despite being in the second tier of English football, are backed by incredibly wealthy owners and are looking to push into the Premier league.

However, Rangers chief Flavio Briatore has all-but closed the possibility with a fairly harsh assessment of the legendary striker.

“Ronaldo? If he loses weight then we can talk,” concluded Briatore.

ROME, June 22 (Reuters) - AC Milan's Brazilian striker Ronaldo has said he is recovering well from a career-threatening knee injury and expects to be able to run again in two or three weeks.

The knee is going very well. Now we are starting work to reinforce the muscle. I'll start running in two or three weeks, Italian media quoted Ronaldo as saying at the French Grand Prix on Sunday.

Ronaldo, 31, added he hoped to upset doctors' predictions that he would be sidelined for at least nine months after having surgery on a ruptured left knee tendon in February.

I'm optimistic. I might be able to return early, although it's early to say with precision. I want to play, La Gazzetta dello Sport's website quoted him as saying.

Ronaldo's contract with Milan runs out this month and he said he still does not know if he will be offered a new deal.

I don't know what to say (about the contract), the three-times World Player of the Year said. Milan haven't made me any promises. Occasionally I speak to (Milan sports director) Leonardo, but I would have liked to have had more contacts from the team. It's still early to say anything.

Ronaldo is well on the road to recovery and “I’ll start running in two to three weeks,” said the Milan star.

“My knee is feeling much better,” he told Sky Italia while visiting the Formula One GP in Magny-Cours.

“We are beginning the muscular reinforcement work now and then I’ll start running in two to three weeks. It’s all going very well.”

Il Fenomeno snapped the tendon in his knee during a 1-1 draw with Livorno in February and was immediately told he’d be out of action for between six and nine months.

“I have moved to Paris for a while to continue the rehabilitation. Seeing as I’m close by, I decided to come see the Formula One.

“It’s a wonderful atmosphere and I am cheering on Ferrari due to my history with Italy and also my friend Felipe Massa, who is driving.”

Serie A Week 38 - 18/5/08 (14.00 UK)
Milan 4 - 1 Udinese
Mesto 32 (U), Pato 48 (M), Inzaghi 59 (M), Cafu 80 (M), Seedorf 89 (M)
Stadio San Siro

Milan can only qualify for the UEFA Cup, as Fiorentina's late victory in Turin made this result futile.
Fourth place was in the balance, but the Rossoneri had done themselves a lot of damage last week by losing at Napoli to see Fiorentina overtake them and go two points clear. To achieve a Champions League preliminary round spot they had to beat Udinese and hope the Viola stumbled away to already-safe Torino.
Handily, Udinese were in the UEFA Cup and for some weeks had seemed on holiday anyway, but were eager for revenge after Alberto Gilardino's stoppage-time winner at the Friuli earlier this season. Alessandro Nesta and Gennaro Gattuso were suspended, while Marcos Cafu and Serginho said their goodbyes to San Siro.
Udinese got off to the best start, as Antonio Di Natale skipped past Daniele Bonera to test Zeljko Kalac, then Andrea Dossena hit the side-netting. Milan fought back with Pippo Inzaghi just failing to get on the end of Kaka's assist, but Kalac required a stunning reaction save to deny Fabio Quagliarella's header.
Kaka was the Rossoneri's liveliest player, but he wasted a good opportunity from six yards, while Massimo Ambrosini ballooned over.
The Friulani took a deserved lead on 32 minutes, as Giandomenico Mesto comfortably waltzed past Giusepe Favalli at the byeline to fire in with his left foot from the tightest of angles. Naturally, this prompted jeers and protests from the Milan fans.
Samir Handanovic did well to rush out and smother the ball at Inzaghi's feet, as the home side tried to fight back.
The Rossoneri should have equalised at the end of a well-worked team move between Clarence Seedorf and Massimo Ambrosini, but Kaka incredibly scuffed wide from the penalty spot.
Alexandre Pato and Cafu were thrown on for an all-attack formation in the second half. It certainly worked, as within three minutes he had tapped in Kaka's ball across the face of goal from six yards to equalise.
However, moments later Gokhan Inler tested Kalac on the counter and Quagliarella's free header was well over. It was a different game now, though, and Inzaghi was twice denied by desperate last-gasp Handanovic interventions.
Inzaghi turned it around completely with his 100th in a Milan jersey. Ambrosini's cross was chested down by Pato for Inzaghi's left-foot half-volley from close range.
Kaka went on a blazing solo run that tested Handanovic, but on 69 minutes Inzaghi was brought down by Zapata as both tried to get on the end of an Andrea Pirlo free kick. The referee pointed to the spot, but first Handanovic saved Kaka's weak attempt, then Inzaghi hit the rebound on to the crossbar!
Fiorentina had taken the lead, but in a fitting finale Cafu scored on his final appearance for Milan, thumping in an angled drive on the volley.
Seedorf also got his glory, combining with Kaka to slide a left-foot shot past Handanovic, but it mattered little with the Viola winning in Turin.

Milan: Kalac; Oddo (Cafu 46), Bonera, Kaladze, Favalli; Brocchi (Pato 46), Pirlo, Ambrosini; Kakà, Seedorf; Inzaghi (Serginho 81)
Udinese: Handanovic; Zapotocny, Cosa, Zapata; Mesto, Pinzi (Eremenko 81), Inler, Dossena; Pepe, Quagliarella, Di Natale
Ref: Rosetti
Missed penalty: Kaka 70 (M)

Crocked Milan star Ronaldo says that club team-mate Kaka is the best player in the world, better than Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.

Milan Return

The Brazilian Ronaldo has hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past few weeks, following his rather embarrassing altercation with three Brazilian transvestites in Rio de Janeiro.

El Fenomeno is currently in his homeland recovering from a severed tendon in his knee that he sustained playing against Livorno in February.

There have been reports in the press that the 31-year-old, whose contract with Milan expires next month, was considering playing for homeland club Flamengo when he returns from his injury.

However Ronaldo has now stated that it is Milan who he will hopefully turning out for.

"They're one of the best clubs in the world, but my only priority now is to return to playing," he declared.

"A player must earn a team like Milan, your past does not matter. If I can have the certainty of 100 per cent recovery, I will return to Milan."

Kaka Better Than Ronaldo

Ronaldo also spoke a little about his former team Real Madrid. He was asked about the rumours that Robinho will be sold, and replaced by Man Utd's Cristiano Ronaldo.
"I think Robinho is appreciated by all the teams in the world, I do not understand why he should not be by Madrid," said the forward.
"Would Cristiano Ronaldo do well in white? I cannot say because I am far away from Madrid.

"Kakà is the best player in the world though. He is a great person both on-and-off the field.”

Milan hitman Ronaldo has given the full version of events that led to a sex scandal involving three transvestite prostitutes.

The 31-year-old severed a tendon in his knee in February, but has made an encouraging recovery so far.

However, the former Selecao star’s reputation has been severely damaged by Press reports that he spent the night with three transvestite prostitutes in Rio De Janeiro.

Even though it has now been confirmed that Ronnie was the victim of an extortion attempt and that original reports he had taken drugs were false, the controversy has taken its toll.

“What happened with the transvestites was the worst thing that has ever happened to me,” he said in an interview with Spanish newspaper AS.

“It was my mistake and I think about it every day. It caused me a lot of personal pain, but it hasn’t changed my desire to play again.

“The true story is that I went to dinner with some friends. We left the restaurant at 4.30am and I did something stupid.

“I’d had an argument with my girlfriend and I was sad, so I was thinking lots. A girl came up to my car and I accepted her services.

“We went to a motel and she called some friends. When they arrived I realised that they weren’t women, but men, transvestites. And then I told them that I had changed my mind.

“I didn’t want to go any further because they weren’t women and they demanded £24,000 or else they would go to the Press.

“But they asked me for more money. I started to negotiate with them because I didn’t want any trouble.

“So they went to the police station and made up lies about me to profit from the situation because I am famous.

“I don’t normally go to prostitutes and I want people to know that. I have always had a girlfriend and I don’t need that kind of service.

“I am heterosexual. I have no problem with homosexuals, but I like women.
I have never taken drugs - I am a sportsman.

“My girlfriend didn’t take it well. She was very angry with me and we argued, but afterwards she gave her support.

“It has been a tough thing for me and also for her. I think that she is also pregnant, but we will wait for the first few months to see if everything goes well.

“I understand that some people may have lost a little respect for me, but I have done a lot for football, for sport and for my country.

“We all make mistakes and I have learned a lot from this experience. I did something stupid and I regret it more each day, but when I return to the pitch and score again everyone will forget it,” he concluded.

Ronaldo has admitted that his dream is to play for Flamengo when he is fully fit and looks increasingly unlikely to ever wear the Milan shirt again.

Injured striking star Ronaldo looks unlikely to return to Milan as he admits that he wants to join Flamengo when he recovers from his severed tendon.

El Fenomeno’s career was in danger when he was carried off in February after severing a tendon in his knee during the Rossoneri’s game against Livorno.

Although Ronnie is recovering ahead of schedule, a sex scandal has hurt his reputation in Italy and the news that he is set to become a father for the second time may also encourage him to stay in his homeland.

“My contract ties me to Milan until the end of the season, but my dream is to play for Flamengo,” he said on Mais Voce.

“In order to do that though I need to be in condition because you don’t mess with history.

“I want to lose weight so that I can make a difference on the pitch by getting back my agility and speed,

“I won’t play for Flamengo unless I manage to lose weight because I want to earn my place and deserve it. I have always loved the club and the Maracana.”

Ronnie also gave an update on his progress on the road to recovery.

“I have started to use a bike and I am swimming to ensure that I burn more calories than I eat.

“Last week I started an athletic nutrition programme where I don’t drink coffee at breakfast and I have as many pieces of fruit and vegetables as I like.

“I think that I will be at my ideal weight within a month.”

Brazilian journalist Ancelmo Gois reported today that Ronaldo is currently 7 kg overweight, adding that the striker is hoping to be 100% again by October.

Ronaldo is currently undergoing a recovery program after a season-ending injury to his left-knee, and Gois reports that the 31-year-old is committed to fulfilling the regimen.

The former Barcelona star has only one month left in his contract with AC Milan, having guaranteed that he will not renew with the Italian club.

"My contract with Milan ends in June and then I will be a free player," he told local program Fantástico. "But I do not want to negotiate with a club without knowing my real condition.

"Then, when I am fine and ready to play, I will choose my path, which is already set in my mind."

Ronaldo, who is believed to want to play for Flamengo, has reportedly been offered a lucrative three-year deal from a club from Qatar, but he is expected to turn down the contract and stay in his home country of Brazil.

Milan’s injured Brazilian star Ronaldo is set to become a father for the second time.

El Fenomeno already has a son, Ronald, from his first marriage to Milene Domingues.

And just weeks after a sex scandal involving transvestite prostitutes gripped the world of football, Ronaldo’s mother has revealed that the Selecao star is ready to become a father again.

Sonia Nazario de Lima told Brazilian newspaper O Dia that Ronnie’s girlfriend Maria Beatriz is pregnant.

After a well-publicised split, the couple are said to be back together and will meet in Rio De Janeiro next week.

It remains to be seen whether a new child affects Ronaldo’s plans to return to the pitch once he has fully recovered from his severed tendon.

The former Inter hitman has stressed his desire to wear the Milan shirt again, but is weighing up the possibility of playing for Brazilian side Flamengo, who have insisted that they would welcome him with open arms.

It has been suggested that having a newborn son may cause Ronaldo to set up home in Rio, rather than attempt a stressful return to San Siro.

AC Milan superstar Kaka has admitted that his dream signing would be Barcelona striker Lionel Messi and not his Brazilian team-mate Ronaldinho.

Messi Without A Doubt
In a transfer saga that has spanned a number of months, Ronaldinho has been linked with clubs across Europe – although the favourites throughout have remained Milan.
At one stage it was reported that personal terms had been agreed, but there was no agreement between the two clubs on a transfer fee and AC’s interest subsequently cooled.
Milan, of course, already have a Brazilian playmaker star in their ranks in Kaka, who stated that he would love to play with Lionel Messi and not Ronaldinho if he was given a choice of signing any player playing in the world today.
“If Adriano Galliani ever gave me the reins of the transfer market, I would sign Messi,” revealed Kaka on Sky Italia.
"At this moment in time he is a player I like to watch. He can make the difference in an incredible way. If I could sign any player, yes, it would be Messi.”
However, would a flamboyant attacking player, similar in many ways to Kaka, be able to play in the same team?
“Can we play together? Of course," responded the reigning World Player of the Year. "I can play with Messi, with Ronaldinho, with Alexandre Pato and with Pippo Inzaghi. It is just an issue of adapting to each other.”
Respect for Ronaldo
Kaka, who has been capped 59 times by Brazil already in his career, also confirmed that he held a deep respect for his international colleagues Ronaldinho and Ronaldo, the latter having been in the news for all the wrong reasons recently.
“I try to stay close to him as much as possible in every situation. I respect him a great deal and he is a very good person. Those who know him are aware of his values,” he continued.
“I tried calling him, but we know Ronie is a bit out of the loop at the moment. I respect him for what he has been through and this is a difficult time.
“Everybody can make a mistake. I do not judge him for what he did and that error, which he has taken full responsibility for.”
Kaka starred in last weekend’s victory over Inter in the Milan derby, giving his side the advantage over Fiorentina in the race for the fourth Champions League spot.

The three transvestites involved in the Ronaldo sex scandal have confessed to police that they lied about having sex and using drugs with the AC Milan striker.

Ronaldo hit the headlines last week when it was reported that he had had an encounter with three transvestites in a motel in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday night.

Ronaldo picked up the three men, believing that they were female prostitutes, and did not realise they were transvestites until they got to the motel.

One of the transvestites, Andreia Albertini, then attempted to extort Ronaldo, asking for $30,000 to buy a house in exchange for hiding the story from the media.
Police inspector Carlos Augusto Nogueira has now confirmed that Ronnie did not have sex or use drugs with the cross-dressers.
"There was no drugs or sex that night,” Nogueira said.
"They said that they invented the whole story because they failed to receive the money they intended as extortion."
As a result of the scandal, Ronaldo’s relationship with his girlfriend Maria Beatriz Anthony has ended, while a number of his lucrative sponsorship deals with the likes of Nike are also under threat.

Brazilian star Ronaldo has admitted he is ashamed after becoming embroiled in a bizarre sex scandal…

The AC Milan striker was in Rio de Janeiro last week to undergo rehabilitation on an injured knee, only to end up in a motel with three transvestite call girls.

The former Real Madrid superstar claimed he did not know the prostitutes were transvestites, and insisted they attempted to blackmail him, leading to a messy and disastrously public scandal.

And Ronaldo, speaking to Globo television on Sunday, admitted that he made a grave error of judgement.

"I've done something really stupid in my personal life," he said. "We are all subject to making mistakes and I made a mistake in looking for this.

"I did not at any moment know they were transvestites."

After a week of silence, Ronaldo has returned to speak to the Press to explain the recent controversy in Brazil.

Speaking to the cameras of the Brazilian TV Rede Globo the Milan striker confessed his regret regarding the events that have involved him recently.

Reportedly, he had been blackmailed by three transvestites, who he had picked up outside a disco in Rio de Janeiro.

“I did something really stupid. Everybody can make errors and I made one,” he admitted.

“I didn't even realise they were transvestites. As a player I am generally on a different level, but I am a person who has his weakness and fears which makes me as normal as anyone else.”

Ronaldo also went on to reveal details regarding that crazy night in Rio.

“I had an argument with my girlfriend and then I went to three prostitutes to heal my sorrows. I wasn't drunk and when we got to the hotel I realised they were men so I decided to kick them out.

“But at that stage they started asking for money. I offered them a liquidation and two accepted while the other asked for an incredible amount saying that he/she would reveal everything to the Press.”

Now the 31-year-old is looking to recover from his injury and hoping to forget about that night as soon as possible.

“I have to rebuild everything around me, it is like when a house gets blown away from a tornado. Now I have to start everything all over again.”

Despite the scandal, Ronaldo has kept his position as a Unicef peace ambassador although there are fears over the Brazilian's sponsorship deals with TIM and Nike.

Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti talked about the recent controversy surrounding Ronaldo's encounter with three transsexuals.

The recent controversy surrounding Milan striker Ronaldo's encounter with a trio of transsexuals, continues to make the headlines. This affair could even cost the Brazilian player his lucrative commercial contracts, and Brazilian newspaper 'O Globo' reported that Italian telephone company TIM had decided to cancel his ˆ4.8 million a year contract.
However, later in the evening the company denied this rumour. "No initiative has been taken against the player. We are still evaluating the situation," they said in an official press note.
Still, according to 'O Globo', Ronaldo's contract with TIM contains a clause that allows the company to cancel the deal if the player gives a negative image of himself.
Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti didn't want to get into any details when asked about this delicate matter. "I love Ronaldo and I'm very sad about what's happened," he said. "In any case I don't want to comment on his private life, but I'm disappointed he made a bit of a fool of himself."

Former Brazil boss Luiz Felipe Scolari has hit out at “absurd and ridiculous” Ronaldo over his sex scandal.
The Milan striker claimed three prostitutes tried to blackmail him in Rio de Janeiro after he failed to realise they were transvestites.
“This is an absurd and ridiculous situation,” slammed Felipao. “Sometimes people don’t like to hear the truth about themselves.
“That is why they surround themselves with people who aren’t good for them and so end up doing ridiculous things.
“I know people in the football world who do this sort of thing, but at least they do them well and nobody ever finds out.”
Scolari was Ronaldo’s Coach when Brazil won the 2002 World Cup in Japan and Korea.
Meanwhile, Brazilian telephone company TIM have denied they tore up Ronaldo’s sponsorship contract after the scandal.
Milan tactician Carlo Ancelotti also broke his silence over the Ronaldo affair.
“I care about him and it’s a shame. Certainly it wasn’t his finest hour, but I am not going to judge people’s private lives,” said Ancelotti.
