Ronaldo returned to action last night for Brazilian outfit Corinthians, 13 months after seriously injuring himself while playing for Milan.
The 32-year-old striker tore his knee ligaments in a match against Livorno on February 13 2008 and some feared his career was over.
Milan decided not to renew Ronaldo's one-year rolling contract last summer and he was allowed to return to Brazil for treatment.
The man they call O Fenômeno trained with Flamengo during his rehabilitation, but later joined rivals Corinthians in a shock move.
After months of speculation, Ronaldo made his debut for Corinthians in last night's Brazil Cup match against Itumbiara. He came on as a second half substitute as the Timão won 2-0.
The former Inter, Real Madrid and Barcelona star is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in football history.
