Ronaldo: I'll Be In South Africa In 2010

Former Milan star Ronaldo is still recovering from his devastating knee injury and is weighing up his next move, but assures that he will fight his way back into the Selecao and play at the 2010 World Cup.

The 32-year-old Brazilian's career seemed to be over after he severed a knee tendon during the Rossoneri's Serie A game against Livorno last February, the umpteenth setback of a career blighted by a series of injuries.
His contract with the Diavoli expired in June and was not renewed, but the Fenomeno returned to action by playing and scoring in a friendly game with Flamengo's youth team last month, and he does not seem willing to call it a day just yet.
"I feel great now," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport, "this is a good moment for me and the rehabilitation is going really well. If I compared this injury to the other I suffered to the right knee, I have to admit that after eight months I did not feel as good. I will probably resume training with Flamengo next Monday.
"There is a connection between me and Flamengo, they are my favourite team and hope I can settle down here, but this will remain just a dream, for I don't think I'm going to make any decision now."
Ronnie has received important offers from French side Paris Saint Germain and Premier League outfit Manchester City, but he confesses that his future is still unclear.
"Paris is a wonderful city that I adore, and Psg have a good project to land the Ligue 1 title," mused the marksman, "as for City, my good friend Robinho is there, but there is nothing concrete yet, we talked about this option a few days ago. However, it is still too soon, I'm just thinking of completing my comeback now."
Ronaldo had also kind words for another dear friend, Adriano, who seems rejuvenated at San Siro this term.
"I'm happy for him," he enthused, "he has always been a great champion, even when things were not going so well for him."
The Brazilian has notoriously played for both Milan sides, but when asked to name the team that still holds a place in his heart he just uttered "see you soon" and scrammed.
