Brazilian striker Ronaldo˘s contract at Milan has expired and reports suggest that El Fenomeno˘s time at San Siro is over.
The 31-year-old hitman˘s career seemed to be over when he severed a tendon in his knee while playing for the Rossoneri against Livorno in February.
However, after a successful operation and rehabilitation, Ronnie is ahead of schedule on the road to recovery and is ready to restart training.
Milan initially hinted that they would stand by the former Inter man if he managed to get back to shape and would offer him a new deal.
But a sex scandal in Brazil damaged Ronaldo˘s reputation and the player has suggested that he would be more comfortable playing for Flamengo in his homeland.
Although UOL Esporte reports that Milan are considering bringing Ronnie back, sources in Italy suggest that the Diavolo are
happy to part company with the top goal scorer in World Cup history.
The crucial factor may be Milan˘s search for a new striking star, which seems to have reached a dead end after top target Emmanuel Adebayor rejected a move.
