The recent controversy surrounding Milan striker Ronaldo's encounter with a trio of transsexuals, continues to make the headlines. This affair could even cost the Brazilian player his lucrative commercial contracts, and Brazilian newspaper 'O Globo' reported that Italian telephone company TIM had decided to cancel his ˆ4.8 million a year contract.
However, later in the evening the company denied this rumour. "No initiative has been taken against the player. We are still evaluating the situation," they said in an official press note.
Still, according to 'O Globo', Ronaldo's contract with TIM contains a clause that allows the company to cancel the deal if the player gives a negative image of himself.
Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti didn't want to get into any details when asked about this delicate matter. "I love Ronaldo and I'm very sad about what's happened," he said. "In any case I don't want to comment on his private life, but I'm disappointed he made a bit of a fool of himself."
