Dear All,

We're winding down for this year, but very much thinking ahead to
2009. In terms of snow, there's been an astonishingly good start to
the season across Europe. There are reports of almost too much snow
in some resorts, with piste machines struggling to control it. All of
which bodes well for the next few months.

This autumn it's been great to introduce so many people to
rollerskiing, and we hope to keep it going in January and February.
These are exciting times in the British cross-country skiing, both in
terms of participation and also at the highest level - read on for
news of the GB World Cup team. Our last rollerski club session and
classes of the year are this Saturday, and our courses resume in 2009.
We look forward to seeing you then,

LIVIGNO SUCCESS FOR MARY WRAY
It's always good to know your instructors can actually ski on snow.
Mary Wray, who was 3rd in the Skate Vasaloppet last year, finished the
40k Sgambeda ski marathon last weekend in a time of 3hrs 34mins,
knocking 30 minutes off her time from last year.

Mary was joined by a 30 strong team from the London Region Nordic Ski
Club, whose (newly re-launched) website is http://www.londonnordic.org.uk

GB WORLD CUP XC SKIING
19 year old 'Gap Year Kid', Andrew Musgrave, continues to make
progress in the FIS Cross-Country Skiing World Cup. You can read more
at http://www.rollerski.co.uk/nx032.html

There's also an article on Andrew in the latest edition of the Winning
Zone, see -

CLUB PLANS
The coaches are putting together plans for the club sessions in 2009.
With numbers growing and everyone improving, the challenge is to keep
the standards rising. We have experimented with Saturday AM sessions
in Richmond Park, and intend to add 2 Richmond sessions a month in the
New Year. If you have any other ideas for the club, let me know.
More information on the club can be found at
