NEWS FROM CUBA
I am working with some skaters in Cuba who are trying to
organize a "Cuban American Friendship Skate" that would
take place near the City of Havana. The purpose of this
event is to help advance the sport of roller skating in
Cuba, and to consolidate a friendship between Cuban and
American skaters. We are trying to find out now if it
will be possible for American skaters to travel to Cuba
for an event like this. Expect more information soon!

NEWS FROM SOUTH AFRICA
The organizers of the September Southern Cross Marathon
have arranged for the Ferrari Club of Johannesberg to race
on the Gerotek Track after the marathon, and the winners
of the inline skating race will be invited to ride in the
Ferraris as passengers. The organizers also plan to set up
ramps at the marathon, so the extreme skaters participating
in the race can stun the South African public with their
amazing feats of skill. Skaters from all over the world will
be attending the Southern Cross Marathon. Recent registrants
include more than 80 skaters from Belgium... and me!.

WHO WAS THAT CUTE BLOND?
Last week I wrote an article about other About.com guides
who skate, and I got a big surprise! Judy Hedding, our
Phoenix Arizona guide, sent me a photo of herself taking a
skating lesson from a beautiful blond skating instructor.
