I'll be in Italy for a few days this week, for the International
"Art of Artistic Roller Skating" workshop in Trieste. I will
have to miss the chat sessions on February 7 and 11, but I'll be
back in the Chat Room on Wednesday, February 14.

There's a new racing series this year in Southern California,
called the El Dorado Inline Challenge. There will be 4 races
in the series, and they will all take place at El Dorado Park
in Long Beach.

New features on my this week include a review of Trail Skates,
Romantic Gift Ideas for Skaters, a photo of our Mountain Biking
Guide Geoff Slater wearing inline skates, being pulled by his
dog Bodie, and a poll to find out how everybody likes all those
new Flash Web sites being released by so many of the Skate
Manufacturers.

ICE CLAP SKATER WANTS TO HEAR ABOUT INLINE CLAPS
"A regular speed skater on ice, I recently had a CLAP system
installed on my traditionnal blades. I slightly increased my
top speed and the improvement in comfort and pleasure is great.
A shop had on display a pair of 5 wheels roller skates with
a CLAP system. They were not selling it yet and could not
really tell me whether it was recommandable. Has anyone tried
CLAP 5 wheels skates? Your impression?" -AVALLON1

ACHING GLUTES AND BUNS
"The glutes..the buns...the top of my glutes down to half of my cheek
seem to be so much more sore with my new speedskates than with my
fitness skates. I am trying to get lower and push out more like you are
supposed to with these skates but I did'nt see this coming and I am
wondering if this is normal." -RIO666
