Federer owns slower players, has more trouble with rabbits   Message List

a lot of people have already seen this web page. I find it
fascinating that Fed owns Safin and Roddick (6-1 and 8-1
respectively). Meanwhile, his head to head results with Hewitt and
Ferrero (8-7, 4-3) are much closer.

maybe it is a simplification but it seems like Fed really thrives on
pace and in playing slower players than he is. He can block
Roddick's heat back without much difficulty. Fed moves so
brilliantly that he puts himself in perfect position after blocking
Andy's firepower.

However, Hewitt and Ferrero are both known for their consistency and
their wheels.

the natural question that comes to mind is whether as Fed gets older
he will be able to dominate the top ten like he does? When Fed slows
down a bit the younger players that come along will seem more like
rabbits to him across the net.

I think Fed is the greatest sportsman in the world. i hope he
manages to hold on to #1 for a long time.

Scott
