Hey Judy…thought I’d pass along this riding opportunity.  I rode last year and it’s a lot of fun to do this at night!  Please pass along…thanks!

Thanks,

Patrick

Bicycle riders register today - Imagine....a warm, clear moonlit July night.  Hundreds of red and white blinking lights are moving down the road amidst the chatter and laughter of cyclists of all ages on cycles of all types.  They pedal on the new, smooth streets of our city center.  They wave to outdoor diners at Brightleaf on Main Street .  They pass under the lighted Duke Chapel.   They pedal past the historic, venerable businesses of Parrish Street .  And leaving the sheriff escorts behind, they clatter over the bridges of the American Tobacco Trail to gather at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park to celebrate and tell stories of their ride.

Registration is open for this 17 mile ride (8 mile route available).  Click here to register.  This year there is a new and improved route with only two brief regrouping stops at Duke Chapel and the pit stop.  12 mph average rolling speed with sheriff escorts.  Helmets, tail and headlights are required.  Bull Moon Ride bike sponsors, The Bicycle Chain, The Clean Machine, and The Cycle Surgeon will have head and tail lights for sale at the ride for $7 each.

Volunteers needed - Over 100 volunteers are needed to help with the Bull Moon Ride.  Click here for more information on the volunteer opportunities available.

Thanks - Many thanks to the 2009 Habitat Bull Moon Ride sponsors!
