World Track Champs - a late report/congratulations   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #3044 of 3586 |

Hi all - a bit of an oversight on my behalf for not discussing GREAT
BRITAINS BEST EVER WORLD TRACK CHAMPS in L.A :-)))
apologies to the rest of the nations represented in the group...but
the GB squad kicked World class butts big time!!!

Olympic sprint - Gold
1km mens TT - Silver and Bronze
womens sprint(!)- Gold
Mens Madison - Gold
MENS 4KM TEAM PURSUIT - GOLD!!!!!!!!!

Superb performances by the whole squad. Even the other events got good
performances - such as 4th for Chris Newton in the points race etc
Was a bit disappointed that Scotlands Chris Hoy never got gold in the
kilo but what the hell - he still got a gold in the olympic sprint
which GB are dominant in now
also suprised by Rob Hayles in the individual pursuit, but then so was
he! and the team used his experience in the team pursuit - FINALLY
after all this time, we beat the Aussies and got a gold!
The Madison win and a gold for Victoria Pendleton in the womens sprint
were added bonuses - brilliant

Ok - i'll shut up now!

Micky
