Re: Winter Training

Hi Micky and Everyone

My cycling has suffered for the last two or three weeks. In Thursday
(11th), I had a tooth out at the hospital. The really yanked and
pulled my face around, and it was so sore. I went back to A & E at
the hospital on Monday morning, as it was so uncomfortable. They said
I had a bad infection. They gave me two lots of anti-biotics to take
for the rest of the week. My mouth has been a little bit better
today, but it is still so sore. Trouble is, the antibiotics are
upsetting my system. I've been in and out of the loo the last couple
of days. I never used to be scared of the dentist, but after recent
visits, they give me the creeps.
This whole tooth thing has made me so tired and run down.
It has also caused a lot of tension, giving headaches, and pains at
the back of the head and neck. I'm sure it will sort itself out
soon though so I can get back on my bike.

I'm really hoping the new year will be a new start for me. 2004 has
been an awful year in so many ways. I've heard so many other people
say the same thing. I think I've mentioned to you, I work for the
Defence Housing Executive, which is part of the Ministry of Defence
here in the UK. As far as the job is concerned, due to
reorganisation, we are to have a "briefing" tommorrow (Monday) about
what may be happenning to us. Several people have said to me that
probably, nothing will happen, and not to lose any sleep over it,
and even if something does happen, the MOD are notoriously slow and
it won't be for a while. I'm still very apprehensive about
everything though. I've seen all this before, I've been made
redundant from my last 6 jobs.

I haven't been out on my bike much recently, and to get out on it,
really helps you calm down and clear your mind. I hope I'm able to
again soon. I want to keep a reasonable level of fitness this winter.

Yours in cycling
Dave
