Re: Winter Training

I hate turbo's!! Ive done training on them for things like hill
climbs and 10m TT champs etc. I stick mine in the shed with the door
open if its cold - the noise drives the spiders out with their wee
suitcases!
If its too warm in there I just set it up in the back garden, which
is on a slope so I point the bike up the hill cos it makes it harder

I saw Jeff Wright at the National HC. Jeff was National HC champ
1994,Scottish RR champ, and a regular International rider.

I asked him how he used to train for hill climbs. He reckoned turbo
was the only way to go - intervals, nothing specific just mix and
match til you find something which works for you.

And for racing season 2 30min turbo sessions a week mixed in with
your normal training. Given how successful a rider he was I think im
gonna try hard to stick into this next year.

No turbo for me til about feb tho - i'll stick to cold dark rides
to work. A few lung searing turbo sessions at this time of year will
see me packing up for weeks/months ilike i have the last 2
(unsuccessful) seasons!!

mm
