Hey there --
My name's David. I just joined the group.
I get cable every spring, right before the classics and cancel it the day after
the Vuelta ends. It's a bit on the expensive side but a price I'll pay to see
good coverage bike racing. In college me and a couple of teammates scoured
Gazette Dello Sport at the library for results and pictures. None of us knew a
word of Italian, aside from a few cycling related terms.
It is good to see O'Grady mixing it up at Dauphine. I wonder if he's changed
his training to go for stages with some hills. Beating Pettachi and McEwen (not
to mention Rodriguez and a couple of others) will be difficult this year.
I'm also unsure about Mayo in the tour. Is Euskatel strong enough to get him
through three weeks? I read David Extebarria will not be on the team and Sammy
Sanchez is a great climber and a gonzo descender but can he ride at the front
and chase down attacks on all the mountain stages?
What about Roberto Heras? I haven't heard a thing about him all year.
T-Mobile -- In my opinion Vino has become a better rider than Ullrich.
Certainly more disciplined, but he will probably stay true to his team captain
and avoid any Lemond/Hinault situations, though that would be interesting.
David
