Re: Giro 2004/Training ride/savage climbs

I did wonder why Rolf Sorensen wasnt listed - in fact I was tempted
to put him as number one - seeing as he is Danish and its a Danish
website, but I thought 'surely not' It was only when i racked my
brains to think of PAris-Roubaix winners, when musseuuw popped into
my mind!

Going for a 4+ hours training ride now, I cant wait! :-) Took a days
holiday to do so.
Its about 120km/75mile and it goes over 2 monster climbs (well, for
Scotland anyway) Both of them are about 550m at the top, which is
very high for a british climb. Both climbs start from around
100metres above sea level. I'm nervous just thinking about it!!
I discovered the 2nd big climb on my route - Kenmore - whilst
driving back from a walk with my daughter and 2 dogs and i nearly
shit myself when i seen it!! I am taking my webcam to get a shot of
it from the bottom and will maybe post it on here.

This is the URL to see Kenmore climb on multimap.

The other climb is on the north side of Loch Tay and I hang a left
at 'Edramucky' just past Killin.

This ride will either kill me for sunday or give me mega good legs!
I'm in desperation mode as its the North East of England RR champs
(I still live in Scotland but I rejoined my old NE club -GS Metro -
this year) on sunday and i have only 1 RR under my belt, a pot belly
and no race fitness!!! arghhhh!!!

Watch this space!

I generally agree with you Micky. The person making the list, has some very weird ideas (ie. Berzin, Ullrich over Armstrong etc.). Don't know the chap at the...
