Personally, I would like to see Jan or vinokourov win this year -
thereby keeping alive the legend that is
Anquetil
Merckx
Hinault
Indurain
Armstrong


all on 5 wins. If he gets 6 then people in years to come will assume
ance a better rider than Merckx or Hinault - which clearly isnt the
case (possibly at lances' own choosing as he doesnt concentrate on
anything but the tour....)

Good point but do you not think he would need a very mountainous Tour? winning the veulta is one thing but the Tour is another against VERY strong all rounders...

True enough. Roberto is not the TT rider that Lance and Ullrich are. I base my choice on the notion that the TdF can be won in the mountains if he keeps close...
