I came off in a race last year, while going *uphill*. Another rider in the
same four-man break snagged by handlebars, and I went backwards off the
bike, completely caving in my helmet...

Are the pro riders going to finally embrace helmets as important now? If so, at least Kiv's death will not be a total waste. Riding no hands, fixing his team...

I read somewhere that Riis would suggest to Jean-Marie Leblanc, organiser of the Tour de France, that riders were allowed to climb the mountains w/o helmets...
