Ridefinder is an email list for road and mountain bike cyclists in the Central Virginia and the area. The list is a medium for ride leaders to announce their organized or impromptu rides. All subscribers can post ride announcements to the list.

Ridefinder is not a general discussion list. Post ride announcements only. A sister group, Two-Wheel-Talk (see Related Link below), is available to cyclists to exchange information on bicycles and cycling. To subscribe to Two-Wheel-Talk send a message to Two-Wheel-Talk-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.

Guidelines for posting messages to Ridefinder

• address your message to ridefinder@yahoogroups.com
• include date, start time, distance, pace, start locations and directions to start location
• include the ride leader's name and a telephone number or email address
• post each ride announcement only one time
• post ride cancellations to the list as soon as possible

Guidelines for replying to Ridefinder messages

• check the header to make sure that your reply is going to the sender of the message (the default) and not to Ridefinder
• do not use "Reply to All" and send your response to all members of the list
• if you set your email to Auto Reply in a manner that sends a reply to the whole list, your subscription will be set to receive messages only and you will not be able to post to the list.
