That sucks Jenn! I wish I knew someone in your area. BUT I will keep you in mind should Trevor decide he doesn't want to get better! I'll just move down there and lease Chew from you cuz I can't afford to buy another horse! One retired wallet drainer is enough!!!!
im doing a quarter lease on bobbie my ottb. im located in southern new jersey
near mt holly. if anyone on this list is near me and is interested or knows of
someone who would be let me know.
How do you go about a quarter lease? I am thinking about doing a lease on Abby because of my time constraints but I have know clue how to set it up! I've only did full leases on horses not shared leases and it was over 15 years ago! Do you require lessons while people are leasing?

i have no idea how i'm going to go about it. i've never done any leasing on my
horses before. but i'm going to come up with a contract and check my homeowners
for liability insurance to make sure i'm covered that why. i also have coverage
through markel insurace for equine liability. i'm not going to require lessons,
however, i can be around on occassion to help out and i do have an instructor
that i use that could come over to teach. so i'll let you know how things turn
out. wish me luck!

I would bet dollars to donuts that the HO liability WILL NOT cover any horse-related claims. Or, they may possibly cover one if it is very small and inconsequential, and then promptly issue a cancellation for "increased risk" or something similar. (Heck, these days, most HO policies won't even cover claims from household pets, much less an animal that is considered livestock!)
As long as you have an Equine Liability policy, you should be ok. If you have a personal umbrella liability policy, you might see if they will offer excess limits over the primary equine liability limits, just to be safe.
yup, i was kind of thinking the same thing. thanks!
