I finally committed to buying an ex-racehorse. I'd been looking for a long
time. I've got a special spot in my heart for racehorses since I spent
nearly 10 years galloping racehorses after college. I've been away from the
track for about 12 years now (computers pay better).

Anyways, her name is Mischief. She's 3 years old by Bartok. She had some
sort of hind end soreness 3 months ago after a 3/8ths workout. They couldn't
figure out what was wrong after going all the way to a nuke scan. Couldn't
find any problems with the bones. She's sound now. Everyone cross your
fingers that we have no recurring issues in her hock.

I'm planning on a year of retraining, then on to jumping and possibly
eventing. I figure if she can't jump (gets sore from it next year) then I'll
have a trained a really nice flat horse for someone else and look for
another potential jumper.
