tournament. Also, Fools may be that weekend too - probably worth
some research.

We are now accepting bids for the 2005 Davis Ultimate Invite (DUI).
The UC Davis Dogs and Pleiades will host the tournament on April 2-
3, 2005 for four divisions: open, women, elite, and coed. All bids
are due by February 23; we will announce selected teams within a
week afterward. On Saturday we will provide a delicious BBQ dinner
for all teams and of course we will also have the usual
water/fruits/bagels/sandwich stuff on hand during gameplay. We
welcome everyone to apply for a bid.

I'm up for playing in the snow in general, but not tomorrow.  Did
someone say Tuesday?  I can come at 8 pm.

I've been looking more into the indoor thing.  Options:

-We can play at the UNR gym weekends as long as we beat the basketball
people to the gyms.  That means being there, ready to play, right at
noon. It would be free for anyone with a UNR gym membership, $2 for any
student/staff without membership and $5 for the general public.

-The UNR team can book gym space as long as they are an official club
team. Anyone know about that?

-I called Total Sports, the Indoor Soccer place.  The only open times
there are 8 am-4 pm M-F and also 4-5 pm T and Th.  Unless you all get
off work early, I'm thinking that won't happen.

So, anyone up for indoor pickup this Sunday, noon sharp?

good waterproof shoes, a colored disk if you have it, and get ready
to lay out!

Looks like there are spaces still available.  This really is a
tremendously fun tournament - think Hats, Hop, and Hucks but on the beach.

We can play any time, I think; I just need to see about booking the
gym. I'll do that today  And I might need one of the UNR team people
to do that, I'll see.

In the meantime, if anyone wants to get in shape by playing a little
soccer, some friends and I are going to meet up at the gym tonight

A few of us had a great time playing in the snow 2 weeks ago, and
while I agree that the weather would have made even parking pretty
difficult last week, I see no real reason to forego ultimate
tomorrow unless another actual blizzard hits.  So, I'll be there at
11 and hopefully some others will be too so I can have someone to
throw with.

I've been waiting to get the registration details before posting the
list and they have finally arrived (I think).  The first Booty & the
Beach was held in November 2003 in Santa Cruz and was an
unbelievably good time, despite lots of rain.  The same folks are
doing it this year, but in San Francisco.  They're a creative bunch,
very involved with Paganello, the huge party/beach tournament in
Rimini, Italy.  It's close, it's fun, and it probably won't be
snowing:

Hello again everyone!

Angelica and Chris' baby shower will not be taking place tomorrow because of
the weather.  Since Chris and Angelica live in Truckee we are afraid they
won't be able to make it to their baby shower and we can't celebrate without

Greetings and happy New Year 2005!

       Well this is  a brief  message to let you all know it is rollicking
good times as usual  in the continent with the raddest big wave
action in the world ....
      Hanoi is just a really beautiful  city with very  friendly people.
We had  a tourney xmas weekend on some nice fields by the
National Stadium, no not rice fields but there are plenty of those
around here too.   Parties of course every night ... we played
night frisbee  on the banks of the Red River, near a bridge that
was bombed by the USA several times, back in 1972 ....
Now Im in Hoi An, a quaint sort of touristy place near Danang
where we were going to have a beach tourney on New Years,
We couldnt play tho because it was cold and windy.  Tossed
a bit on a field in town
     A few days ago  we chartered a boat cruise around halong
bay.... amazing ..... thousands of small islands dotting the bay...
   mosst of us were loaded by 7:00 and the party lasted all night .....

    Met Michelle from Stanford , now Singapore, who sends hellos
to Yair, Joanna, Carlos, and Becky.

Hey all,

There was talk about still having pick-up this Saturday, but to bump
it up to 1:00 to allow some extra post-revelry sleep.

So, let me formally state that pick-up will be at 1:00 this Saturday
(unless someone more senior on this list states otherwise in a
subsequent email).
