Hi all, Truckee pick up has been happening on Thursdays at 6 pm.  We will reamin on field 2 (upper field)  I will be out of town this Thursday but Orlin has the rec dept schedule showing ultimate assigned to that field, so feel free to politely ask the socer clubs to beat it.

I hope all is well in your tiny universe these days. Summer appears to be showing up and we've had some terrific days of warmth with cool nights. Ah, it's good to be alive. I had one of those weekends that was full of good, uplifting people and beautiful places including fresh fruit on the Yuba river which is a fantastic place to visit. Last Friday I gave a presentation to a full room of foster parents and social workers discussing the usage of psychiatric medications on children. The content was stimulating and empowered me to continue to help others get off of medications and into constructive, adaptive ways of staying healthy naturally.

I wanted to share with you a few upcoming events and activities that I'm offering to the community


Spinal Stretch class Wednesday mornings 10 AM - 11 AM at Tahoe Yoga - Reno
  
An evolving sequence of stretches and movement that is intended to free up any restrictions in the spine and to recondition the spinal muscles to move in a supportive way. Please let your family and friends know. This class will be offered at the same time as the Kid's Yoga class taught by Jen McClellan. It's perfect for those of you that have young children as you will both be able to take a class simultaneously. $11 or series rates.

Monday June 23rd- 7:30 - 9:30 PM Yoga Loka Reno
My next Dynamic Anatomy Workshop will be offered at Yoga Loka as part of their One Night Stands series.  It is entitled The Yogi's Spine and will cover the anatomy of the spine, subtle energy channels of the body, and the integration of the bhandas and the breath. If you don't understand a word of what I just said and you are practicing yoga then you'll definitely want to take this workshop. There are CEU's available for yoga teachers accredited through the Yoga Alliance. $25/ $20 in advance.

I urge you to take time these days to create the life and lifestyle that brings you happiness. Since a large part of my happiness comes from physical activity I choose to live a wellness-based lifestyle. I don't have symptoms and I  continue to make sound lifestyle decisions.

The world at large is mostly unaffected by how you decide to show up – it keeps spinning no matter what. The point is, you do what you do based on your worldview and your identity, your sense of who you are and what beliefs, behaviors and personality traits would accompany that kind of you. If you perceive yourself to be a well person, then you'll pick lifestyle patterns that correspond to well people.

A late and congratulatory Father's Day. Great fathers are great people who apply their greatness to being a father. And part of being a great father is to be an example of effective decision-making, not the least of which are health and wellness decisions. The best thing you can do for your family, dads, is to stay around long enough to partake of as many significant milestones as possible. Maybe there's a lot to that equation that we can't control, but the parts we can, we should, and that means observing the basics of good health for men, including stress management through exercise, meditation and chiropractic care, sound nutrition and other lifestyle habits, and a wellness-driven psychology that creates a positive mindset and attitude. This advice works for mothers as well. Hey.....and why not children, athletes, and how you raise and treat your animals.

I am feeling a strong pull towards purchasing a new slip and slide I heard of with a wake skate, (no promises, but if I find one in time, bring something you can get wet in, just in case.) If not we can always mob the river as it's 1000 feet from my back door.

Hi all, Truckee pick up starts today at 6pm so get there around 5:30 to warm up. 
 
Here's the deal, we are on the smaller field for the next 2 weeks.  (when you're facing the fields, the one all the way to the left on the other side of the gazebo.) We move to the big boy fields starting June 5th for the duration of the season.
 
If the cold weather is causing second thoughts, suck it up and show up so we can all go drink $1.00 beers at fifty fifty.
