Quincy Recap (cont.)

Thanks Scotty for the Day 1 highlights! Since Mike apparently isn't
going to step up, I've taken it upon myself to share . . .

Day 1.5: While the jury is still out on the pasta for dinner, the
party was big bootielicious.

Day 2: We were a bit short-handed, fielding only eight players at the
beginning of games and arguing as well as we could for a hat tournie.
But Mud, smelling out weakness insisted on a grueling schedule: first
round games, championship, then another game in which all the other
teams got to pick their all-stars and play the winner.

Present and accounted for were:

The Carlosinator
Chris "the Claw" Stone
Dan Winnemucca
Denise-ity
Megan aka Coco's heat blanket
Mike the "C." is for "Cool"
Renee stands for "Getaoutamyway-ay"
Yak Yakity Yak Yak

and
Angelica "get this baby outta my stomach so I can play" Stone

We started out against Game-to-Five. Our calm (veteran?) play showed
from the beginning and the disc landed our way, so that we were already
up by a couple when

Brian "the Finn" Finley

arrived, dragging a rock under his "yellow rocket."

The Fives played us well, but once again couldn't stand up to our
disciplined (is this Free Range I'm talking about?) play. They ended up
resorting to the huck game, which, with Yak in the backfield, is a game
we'll play any day. I'm not sure what the final score was but we won
handily, maybe 11-5 or 11-6?

Next up was Mud, fresh off whupping ATC (while we watched and heckled).
They came out on fire, but we were able to match them blow for blow,
taking half and the game, a little closer than our match up the day
before. I can't remember the final score, but we pulled away late in
what was otherwise an awesome close game.

Our key all day was D D D D. We played smart, inspired D, cool calm
swingin' O, and our team won; 'nuff said far as Dan Winnemucca is
concerned.

Afterward, the all-star game didn't happen (I don't think they all
wanted to get beat again! : ) so we stayed around and played pickup. A
bite of awesome lunch at the coop and we were Reno-bound.

It was a great time, we missed everyone who wasn't there and thanks to
Quincy for the awesome tournie, party (and breakfast!).

Dan Winnemucca
