FORT MYERS, Florida (Ticker) -- Scott Erickson and Edwin Jackson

combined for 7 1/3 strong innings as the Los Angeles Dodgers
</baseball/mlb/teams/dodgers/index.html> posted a 2-1 victory over the
Boston Red Sox </baseball/mlb/teams/red_sox/index.html> in a Grapefruit
League contest.

The 37-year-old Erickson started and allowed a run and two hits over
four innings, striking out five. Attempting to overcome a series of
recent injuries and win a spot in the Dodgers' rotation, Erickson has
yielded only one run and three hits in nine innings this spring.

The 21-year-old Jackson, who also is looking to secure a spot in the
Dodgers rotation, tossed 3 1/3 hitless innings but walked four.
