RIDE ALONG IN THE ELEVA BROILER FESTIVAL PARADE.
SUNDAY, June 2nd 2002. For FUN and for PUBLICITY, the Red Eyes &
the Slope Slurpers are putting together an entry in the parade to
encourage people to JOIN THE CLUB. We need you!! Our float is a
hay wagon pulled by draft horses, and we will have a mini mountain
(straw covered by white sheets) and a chair lift and more. We will be
adorning the float with ski poles, skis, and snowboards. We need as
many of you as possible to ride the wagon, wearing lots of ski gear
(goggles, helmets, hats, gloves) and LOTS of RED EYE merchandise,
especially BANDANAS. We will be either giving out root beer or
tossing candy, and passing out business cards. Parade line up starts
at 11:30 (from EC, 2nd driveway left into the park in Eleva), and
parade starts at 1:30. We need people who want to roller blade or
skateboard alongside or behind (attired as skiers/boarders, of
course), and people to ride the float, include two to sit on the
chair lift with your boots and skis on. We also need people to help
assemble the float on Saturday June 1.
Please call or e-mail Gloria if you can help with any or all of the
following:
1. Ride the float or rollerblade the route with us,
2. Help assemble the float the day before
3. Lend any white sheets to resemble snow
4. Lend 50 feet of heavy rope to resemble cable of chair lift

The Lutsen trip, March 1-3, 2002, is in danger of
being cancelled because only 17 people have signed up
as of 1/10/02. The deadline for paying for or
dropping the rooms is Feb. 1. To pay for the bus and to
get group rates, we need 30 people signed up. So, if
you are thinking of going, or you know someone else
who is thinking about going on the Lutsen trip, NOW
is the time to stop thinking and DO something,
namely call Coral or Jim, the trip leaders. Their phone
numbers are in the latest Red Eye newsletter (I don't
want to post them here.) Remember, Feb. 1 is the
deadline--if 30 people haven't signed up by Feb. 1, the trip
will have to be cancelled.<br>Signed, Gloria, your

we have an ad for the Banff trip. So if you are
