First locate the starter, it usually has two bolts or studs holding it
on and is almost always right at the connection between the tranny and
engine. Second unhook battery. Third unhook terminals to starter then
unbolt the starter. it shold come right out if nothing is else is
hindering its' removal.

p.s. If you have the proper book for the nissan it will have this info.
