This Saturday my friends from the Bay Area are coming up, so come on
out!!! Let's have a good showing. Great spirit expected.

Next topic. I was thinking that with all those Tuesday people plus a
few Chico and Bay area connections that we might be able to do a hat
tournament. For those who have not been to one, teams are somewhat
randomly created (usually an effort is made to put all the handlers in
one "hat" and ditto for tall fast runners, etc. Random, but fair,
teams). These teams play in a weekend tournament, but we could do it in
one day if we wanted to, I think. Everyone wears a silly hat. Usually
you get a tourney shirt and a disc, and since we can get free fields we
might be able to do so for $25 per person. We do advance payment only
with a solid due date, then we can order everything.

Maybe the end of September? We would need a leadership team - anyone up
for it? We need someone to TD the event to set caps, time the events,
make the tough decisions, etc...Nate Gaddy?, someone to do artwork for
a shirt and disc (What would be an approriate logo for Redding?),
someone to order discs and shirts (I am willing to do this), and a few
people to buy the extra discs because we need minimum of 100 (I would
take a dozen for resale). We also need people to handle water supplies,
maybe some bananas/bagels, field set up, and to get the media out
there.

If we have the leadership and effort in this group, I will present it
on Tuesday. Email back or let's talk on Saturday.
