Greetings All,
I'm living on Cozumel now; in the same studio as years past. The tempo
is much calmer here and way fewer people. With so many local hotels
damaged there are fewer tourists and many fewer jobs. The workers from
off island, 'foreigners', were the first to be let go and many of them
moved over to the more vibrant PDC. Because those who remained have
families and reputations to think of, there is a more polite and
courteous culture here now. There are many businesses loosing money
right now but keeping their fellow Cozumelino workers working as things
improve.
I picked up a virus at the local cyber cafe this week. Actually it's a
hellish head cold I got from a sneezing tourist.
My new iBook is excellent! (thanks again Mark, Chris, and Richard) I put
the old hard drive in an external housing and boot from it through a
FireWire cable. Everything looks and behaves just like the old one.
Wed night was an inky moon less night, and my third floor view is
excellent.
I watched the twinkling lights of PDC, 9 miles across the water.
My departure from PDC for CZ was as chaotic as ever, with the Triciclo
and 300 lbs of gear.
I guess I'll start pedaling downtown this morning to get this weeks web
page up on the wire to you.
