I wanted to let everyone on here know that its been a rough few months for
me. In the
end of March I found out that I had a brain tumor that was dangerously close to
my brain
stem. If anyone ever needs a good nuero surgeon, I would let my Doctor,

operate on my children. Needless to say I had to learn how to walk, speak, and
write my

Vog,
While i haven't spent as much time at RCF as I used
to or would like to,because of my involvement att The
Cameron Collector, it will be sad to see it go. I got
started collecting because of this place so it will
always be a fond memory for me. In the short time
you've been involved at The Cameron Collector, you've
done great things and the membership has truly
benefited. I'm sure great things are ahead for all of
us, especially now that we'll have your full support.
Thanks for all you have done and all you do for the
collecting community.

Thieves make off with Peter Jacobsen's clubs
Posted by The Oregonian August 24, 2007 08:50AM
Categories: Top Stories
A well-known PGA professional golfer with lifelong ties to Oregon
was targeted by thieves Thursday who stole his golf clubs from the
garage of his Southwest Portland condo.

Peter Jacobsen, who grew up in Portland and plays on the PGA
Champions tour, lost the Titleist set he plays with as well as two
other bags of clubs that had deep sentimental value to him, said his
assistant Amy Biery.

The older clubs included those he used when he played at Lincoln
High and at the University of Oregon, she said.

She would not say how much all of the clubs were worth.

"A lot of them have sentimental value rather than monetary value,"
she said.

She said Jacobsen, who also maintains a Florida residence, recently
moved into a Southwest Portland condo near Providence St. Vincent
Medical Center. She said Jacobsen, 53, and his wife were leaving the
condo about 3 p.m. Thursday and had their garage door open for about
10 minutes. It was during that time the clubs were stolen, Biery
said.

The couple did not realize the clubs were gone until they returned
home about three hours later. She said police suspect a thief was
trolling the area for potential targets.

She said Jacobsen planned to use his clubs next week when he plays
at the Wal-Mart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach.

Jacobsen played on Ryder Cup teams in 1985 and 1995 and last won on
the PGA tour with a victory in the 2003 Greater Hartford Open.

She said Jacobsen is offering a $5,000 reward for information
leading to the clubs' return.

The studio just called me, and it seems that Pete Jake's home in
Oregon was broken into.

His entire set was stolen, including his handmade Cameron putter. Pete
is just sick about it, unlike many tour players who change frequently,
it sounds like this putter has been in his bag for a while.

I am going to be posting pics of the putter on www.cameroncollector.com

If someone approaches you with this putter for sale, please note the
seller's contact info and name, and contact me directly. I will
forward the info to the studio

Bill

Many thanks for years of championing and supporting the Real Cameron
Fans, and Cameron Collector is now established as an active and fully
featured site, an essential site for anyone remotely interested in
Scotty's work and set as home page for more than a few of us, I suspect.

Good luck with the new book, which we are already anxious to see. You
will always be the King of the Cameron Crazies.

Regards and thanks

Vog,
Thank you for everything you've done and continue to do. I have really enjoyed
the RCF yahoo group. As you know I spend a lot of time over on TCC so I don't
feel like I'm saying good bye. Thanks again for your efforts.

As many of you know, I am now watching over
www.cameroncollector.com, which was started by Doug Hardman two
years ago. He built a very cool site, entrusted it to me back in
January, and over the last two weeks we've been transitioning the
site to a new server. Not without some headaches, but we're close to
  getting everything fixed.

In the next few weeks, I'll be putting Real Cameron Fans into
suspense mode. Not sure what I need to do, but it's impossible for
me to monitor and be involved with both sites. Cameron Collector is
much more user friendly and modern. I think you'll still be able to
see old posts and view some of the pictures, but essentially it will
  be "put out to pasture."

By then, I'll be able to focus 100% of my Internet time on Cameron
Collector. I'll also be able to start work on...another Cameron
book. If you haven't heard, Scotty would like me to do another book.
It will be totally different that The Art of Putters. More
pictures, less boring facts. My goal? To make the reader feel like
they have known Scotty personally for years, and to feel like all of
the putters pictured in the book have passed through their hands. In
the 6 years since I wrote the original book with David Levine,
probably 90% of the putters I'd want to picture in the book have
surfaced...meaning the first book only "scratched" the surface.

Like RCFC, my only driving factor in the book is to help this great
community of Scotty Cameron fans. I will have no financial interest
in the book. I'll get the book ready to print, and give it to
Scotty. I won't be selling it, or making a penny on it. All I've
ever wanted to do is be a collector. And help other collectors.

So, this is sort of an advanced good bye for RCFC. Sorry to see it
go, but there are better ways of helping the current generation of
  collectors.

Sorry if your posts have been slow to show on this board.

For newer members, I moderate posts, of which 99% make it to the board.

With the transition of www.cameroncollector.com, I have not been
checking this site to moderate these. I just allowed maybe 4 or 5
posts to show. So, sorry for the delay

Guys, I think most of you visit this site, and we've been working
though some technical issues for about a week. For me at least, the
site has been up and I've been able to access about 90% of the time
the last few days. Last week, it was more like 30%. A move to a
different server is planned by tomorrow, which our IT guy is 99%
sure this will solve the rest of the problems.

Issues such as the eBay links and the COA feature is now working,
the COA view needs one more tweak to get just right.

If you're still having a lot of problems accessing the site, try
this:
1. Clear your cookies and cache and try it again.
2. Make sure you're going to www.cameroncollector.com and not
www.thecameroncollector.com. This should be fixed in the next day or
so, ultimately, either URL will get you to the site.
3. Just try again in a couple of minutes.

I think a lot of people have realized how much they miss the site,
and for that, I apologize. Let's say I have something cool up my
sleeve for this weekend that hopefully, it will all be worth it.

Still down for me (it is Friday). Even when the site has been up, I
have noticed that several features are not the same & I have not been
able to access the PDA version from my phone all week.

Not bitching, just saying I hope it all gets worked out soon & all the
same features are in place.
