First, I love the fact that no 4th year player ever turns down max
money. That means we have Chris a bit longer than I figured. Enough
time, perhaps, for Ontario advertisers to step up and make this good
looking base-voiced young man too rich in ad revenue to ever leave
Toronto. A la Jordan, Maple Leaf Sports might become less than half
of the star player's true income! This is a hopeful thought!!!
In any event, it would take huge onions for the new GM to not step up
to the plate and offer Bosh's "mailman" Mike James an offer he can't
refuse. I want to keep the best free agent PG/SG resigned in hopes of
getting CB4 to reup long term.
Seconly,in an article about Sam Mitchell being "out of gas" after
coaching the Raps through this tough season, I found some interesting
points...
The Raptors have gone with 24 different starting lineups this year and
only one -- Charlie Villanueva, Chris Bosh, Pape Sow, Morris Peterson
and Mike James -- has a winning record (6-4) ... Not only are the
Raptors 1-8 in overtime, they are 5-11 in games decided by three
points or less ... The Raptors have had a fourth-quarter lead in eight
of their last 14 losses.
An excuse to put someone like the Miami head coach who "quit" to fill
in as head coach for one monh to give Sam a needed rest...and give the
GM (and arm-chair GMs like me) another coaching prospective on our
players before final decisions have to be made off-season..
