RE: [Rap Pak] Rafer out....Mike James in

Well i have to say this trade totally caught me off guard. I was watching an
interview with Rafer only hours before i heard the news, I actually was
happy when i heard the deal. I will miss the potential that Rafer brought to
this team, I certainly wont miss the drama queen we saw for most of his
second stay in Toronto. Rafer will most likely get a shot to start in
Houston with Bob Sura fighting injuries all the time, I wish him all the
best.

Mike James seems to me to be the type of player that fits into are system,
He plays less minutes and is effective at both ends of the court. This deal
was not a good one for us if we just look at the talent that changed hands.
The reason this deal was made was to free up some cap room, This gives us
some room to throw some money at Bosh in the future. We obviously felt we
are deep enough at the PG position that we could make this move. Alvin
Willams and some of the young kids are going to have to step up for us.

>The thing about Alston is that I'll miss what he could have been, not

The Raps traded problem child Rafer Alston to the Houston Rockets for eratic but less volatile Mike James on the first day of training camp. Weird timing since...

I think there are several positives about this trade: 1. I removes the chemistry issue. 2. I think the raptor management is high on Caledron and this probably ...

Here's some stats I dug up on both Alston and James from last season. I'm not a big fan of stats telling the whole story, but it appears the two players are...

The stats comparing Alston and James really do not say anything towards how this deal should be compared. Rafer Alston is a better talent then James, But James...

Here's a better stat comparison. Two seasons ago (2003-04) Rafer played 82 games for the Heat at 31.5 minutes per game. That same season James played 55 games...

I really think comparing any stats from this trade is a waste of time. This deal was not based on talent for talent by either team, The Rockets needed another...

The money is huge for sure, but I truly hope James plays effectively. Not only because the Raps need more than one player to fill all those PG minutes, but in...
