Re: Villanueva and Graham

Naw I'm pretty happy with it. In fact it went how i thought it would.
Big at 7, swingman at 16, pg at 38, stash a euro at 58. Now i admit
the players were no way what i thought, but I'm ok with it.

There was a big run on interior players starting with the Raptors at
7. Villanueva probably is the most talented of the bunch. Guards and
swingmen were falling like a rock so the Raps still got a good one in
Graham. Many were hoping for Granger at 7 while he was still there at
16 so obviously not too mnay teams wanted him.

Green obviously killed himself by not working out against other
players and I didn't particularly want his skinny ass on the team
anyway. I cant see any way he could play SF yet.

I think this draft is a bit of an indication of the value dropping for
swingmen. There's so many good ones in the NBA that it isn't such a
great thing to have one. No one really wanted to use a lottery pick on
them after Marvin was taken. Webster was a bad pick IMO. Two
highschool players in the backcourt for portland. ugh. maybe in 3 or 4
years.

How bout Ukic? We wanted him at 16 and he didn't even make the 1st
round and then we STILL got him.

Villenuava supposedly has this lazy reputation which is certainly
discomforting, but what happens if he isn't lazy? He'd be a pretty
damn good player. Certainly a whole lot bigger than Marshall who
managed to find 30 minutes a game. Villa will have his chances and his
skills fit our uptempo style. I can see him and Bosh playing together
better than Marshall and Bosh did. Maybe about 20 minutes per game.

The euro at 58 was obvious. There were no roster spots left so the
raps needed a player to stash in europe. Was hoping for Gigli but got
Slokor. Same guy different name. We'll see about him. Shrug.

The only player I will be worried about is Bynum. I hate missing out
on BIG centres. Villa could be great but if Bynum is also great, I
wont like it. But Bynum is the only guy, so I can live with it the
picks. I'm not worried about all those swingmen because we got a good
one in Graham.

Besides, If stephen A Smith didn't like our draft , then I like it.
He's an imbecil and has a hardon for the Raps. I didn't se him getting
all freaky when Diogu was picked too high. It was a wacky draft and
the Raps just happened to be the first team of many that didn't
follow the "book".

Villanueava
Graham
Ukic
Slokor

Babcock has made no mistake until we see them play.

Villanueva's a tweener. I thought you hate those. He's too small and too weak to play 5. Too big and too slow to play 3. The team basically drafted Bosh's...

Too small to be a centre and too big to be a SF? Thats not a tweener, thats a powewr forward. Now I'm not saying the raps needed a Pf in a big way, but the...
