Micheal Curry is known as a leader who plays hard and he doesn't look
for his own shot. There has been some talk about the Raptors needing
better perimeter defending and Curry is just that type of player.
Curry is also the president of the players association and this might
be a good thing for keeping our team in line, especially if Curry and
our new coach get along.
I don't see Curry making a significant difference, but if the Raptors
run into injuries again, then this deal could be very important. The
Raptors now have 4 legit players for SF/SG. Carter, Peterson, Murray,
and Curry. That is nice depth and the Raptors have had little depth
at any position throughout their history.
I think is a minor deal with a potential of being a very good move if
injuries arise among Murray, Peterson, or Carter. Considering the
past history of Carter and Murray, then it is smart to have some
depth.
As for Curry's contract, it has only one year left and is a little
lower than Hunter's was.
