Hi Sylvia!

LT no see! I'm keeping an eye on the weather but right now I'm leaning to one of my favorite Fall rides...Wynola Up - Engineer's Down. Lots of Fall colors and fresh air around Julian and the Cuyamacas.

So your trip to Al’s is 15 miles and you’ll be there by 10?  Is that right?

My trip to Al’s from Carlsbad is 20.. so I’d have to leave by around 8:40

The Panniken in the Flower Hill Mall ..............

But it looks like we are going to "Al & Steve's Beach Hut" for coffee! Whooo hoooo!

Great idea Al! What a guy!

Wow.. sound like if you are leaving at 9 I may be able to leave my house at the same time and ride to Panniken.. or Al’s to meet, then go back with you on the 56 and home somehow.

Ah.. do you mean the Panniken in Encinitas?  That is quite a bit further for you guys than Al.

I guess I’ll have to know where you’re going in order to figure out when to meet ya…

Perhaps I’m in!

Hello Fun Riders!

FRIDAY LITE!

Date: Nov. 20th

Next Friday we are continuing our quest for new RFR blood with a lazy lollipop from the start of the bike path on Rancho Penasquitos/56 (Azuaga St across from the road).....then down and across Fairbanks Ranch and down to Del Mar where we will either have coffee at the Panniken or continue on to Al Tarkingtons house and have coffee there (I haven't told Al about this yet-haha!) It's up to Al! Anyway then we'll return on the 56 bike path to the cars. This is definitely an eazy peazy ride and tandem friendly etc. etc......

Those biscuits who feel the need for added mileage feel free to start in Borrego or the Beach or wherever and meet us at the start at 9am. Myself I will be happy to do a slomo ride and take in the morning while enjoying a steaming hot cup of joe at Al's place overlooking the surf. hee hee.

Start: Azuaga St/Rancho Penasquitos across from Bike Path.

Time: 9am

Mileage: 30 miles

Elevation Gain: 2000 feet.

Hello Fun Riders!
It was a great day for climbing, and lots of climbing we did. It was a great day for chili at MOMS , and lots of chili we ate.
The North County Cycling Crew were fun riders and a pleasure to ride with. Thanks to Jeff 2 for coming up with the idea of a mutual ride. They were kind of amused and mystified with all our club's nick names but got used to it after awhile..I think.
There was a little drizzle on the windshields coming up 78 but not a drop during the ride and we actually had some sun break through in places. It was a little brisk coming down the East Grade but nothing compared to last Saturday coming down from Ranchita.
Here are the pics...

Next week is Friday Lite.
I should get my PC back this week to make a proper schedule...shame on me!

Enjoyed Palomar with you guys! It was a really good ride today. Thanks, Wes, for getting it together. Sweated on the way up, froze on the way down. Sorry we missed the Mother's chili, but Scott and I had to get back home in the early afternoon. Hope to do it again someday soon...

Hi friends,

I've ridden with the club in the past (while as a partner of Burley Design Cooperative many years agoon a business road trip); also 'worked' with Kirk's bike shop in town.     I now own a bicycle touring business, and we're trying to get the word out about a couple of tours coming up that might be of particular interest to club members - especially for those wanting to beat the winter blues:

California Dreaming Holiday tour (Dec. 26-31)
Maui Triple Challenge Tour (Feb. 2010)
Amgen Tour of California (May 2010)

We do offer some nice club/group discounts for any of our tours, by the way.

Cheers,
Rob Templin

Steve and Ironman Al rode up from Harrahs and enjoyed lunch at Mom's Kitchen before freezing their butts off on the descent...

Steve Orten was planning on coming up to meet you guys.  I wondered if you saw him at all?

Subject: [ramonafunriders] Palomar Short Loop South Grade Ascent Recap
