Did everyone besides me go all the way to DP? I felt like a wimp turning tail at Las Pulgas, but knew that my non (at least not lately) recumbent trained legs would not be up to a full century. This proved to be more than true as about halfway back through Pendleton, almost every slight kick up in the road began to result in various interesting combinations of tightening and/or cramping leg muscles which could only be relieved by stopping, dismounting and contemplating whatever view was available. Luckily, I had no pressing agenda, so I continued on in this way, stopping, as my legs dictated, to contemplate yet another view. I finally got back to the car about 1:15. My legs were toast---but my back felt great!!
