RE: [ramonafunriders] Brrrr

Sure….stay in bed.  That’s what I did…. J

Actually when its cold I now wear woolies (long pants with a fuzzy lining) and specialized long finger gloves, arm warmers under my long sleeve jersey that is wind proof and footies that really keep the air out of the shoe!  I learned all this when I rode up Palomar the day after thanksgiving, no leg warmers and only a long sleeve shirt and short finger gloves.

Hi all,
As some of you know I rode my first rode race yesterday and it didn't
go well-the reason? Well, besides not knowing what to expect, my race
was at 7:10am in Campo and it was 28 degrees with wind to top it off.
I never was able to get warm so my muscles stopped working and I
couldn't feel my feet. So who out there has found the best riding
apparel for very, very cold riding?
Jackie

Now that Sam mentioned it, it wouldn't hurt to e-mail the folks at Bouré and get their thoughts about cold weather riding. Really. They wouldn't mind. Some of...

Jackie, Don't feel bad. Everyone gets dropped in their first race. It just takes a few races to get comfortable and to know what to expect. A strong rider like...

Warm up for AT LEAST 30 minutes on rollers (at a moderately fast pace) prior to the start of the race! Wear layers, so you can peel them off as needed. Don't...
