I would like to thank all for the input on the Garmin HRM's. I did purchase
the 405 from Dick's, then I returned today. J. The main reason I did not
keep was I think my Polar is being effected by static from my shirts. This
last week we have had very low humidity. Looking at the Polar site they
pointed out that the new material shirts are made "can" cause static if the
fit is loose and moisture is low. They suggested wearing a shirt that is
tighter and does not move around or wet the shirt or wear a cotton shirt. I
have used this HRM for 5+ years with the battery replaced in the watch. I
have had no trouble. Today we have normal humidity and I had no trouble. So
that is going to be my story and I am sticking to it. Sooo THANKS!!! Steve

Steve,

One very bad suggestion by Polar was to wear cotton. It will absorb sweat
which is full of salt which will grind your skin and bleed you.

:-)

Jim McGrath

PS. Cotton is good for handkerchiefs and towels where you take advantage of
its absorptive qualities.
