Here are two more very real reasons
- For the road running championships that are in the USA championship
circuit, both a liaison from LDR committees as well as Jim Estes of
the national office attend the races, with one of Estes' prime
responsibility being results posting.
Even when an event has some 'professional' help, there is
prioritizing of tasks. For example, the Freihofer's Run For Women
with 4000 runners and all the other add on events, took precedence to
the walk with under 50 people .
And, so it's not all walk, the USATF Mountain Running Championship
last weekend took 3 or 4 days to get posted anywhere. There were
problems, and the MUT (Mountain, Ultra, Trail) chair was there, but
she didn't post anything.
I'd say that it's not so much money as it is getting enough people to
do the right jobs for an event like a walk championship. If one
person was assigned the sole task of getting results to USATF, and to
several different websites and contact people, the job would get done.
