Steve,
I have had the Garmin Forerunner?305 for just shy of 2 years.? For an anal
retentive accountant (yes, I know that is redundant) I am very pleased with it.?
There are many different settings available and more information than even?I
care to keep up with.? The key for me is the?information I want is available
based on my settings.?
I cannot speak to the 405 as I have been happy enough with the 305 that I would
replace it with another 305 if this one quit working.? One real benefit of the
405 is the price of the 305 dropped when the 405 was introduced.

Subject: [racewalking] Polar vs Garmin HRM
I am having trouble with my Polar 610i HRM. I am looking at replacing. Today
I picked up a Garmin Forerunner 405. I am having 2nd thoughts. Does anyone
have experience with the Garmin? I have read several places where the 405
has a possible moisture problem. Sweat effects the operation of the watch. I
really like the idea of the GPS tracking speed and distance. All suggestions
most appreciated. Thanks Steve
