RE: [UK racewalk] Jo for Beijing :-) but not Dan UK ATHLETICS BEIJING OLYMPIC SELECTION
,
A & B standards are set by international authorities (IAAF/IOC), I will keep my
own counsel on the our capacity to find the athletes, I have been subjected a
little too much abuse over recent months to fully outline this again, reactive V
Proactive is best way to describe this! What I will say is we need to return to
being part of athletics rather than thinking we are a separate sport, we are an
event in a whole sport.
It is possible to get the times, others in other countries do it. The required
standards were achieved by men working full time as long as 30 years ago and
yes in a commonwealth country.
Dan is a very capable athlete, as is Dom they will make it if the circumstances
are right, just perhaps not this time.
