I am relatively new to race walking.....I live in
Fredericksburg,Texas...I am a 26 year old male...I have a few
questions..First,What is a good walking shoe (Nike/Adidas,etc..)
Second,I lift weights 3-4 days a week, not really heavy stuff so as
not to add too much body mass,I am 6ft 2in,and 195 lbs.,should I cut
back on the lifting,or use a certain lifting program??,Third,What is
a good time for doing the 5k walk?..I did one in 33 minutes in the
country (hills, gravel, grass)it was my first walk...Fourth,are most
race walks held on streets,or tracks,as opposed to off road
terrain?? ANY help with these questions would be greatly
appreciated...Thanks----GO SPURS----TROY COBB
p.s. is it odd for a guy my age to be race walking? I hate
running, and I cannot practice Jiu-Jitsu anymore due to a shoulder
injury,so I get a good workout from speed walking.
