The IOC is meeting to discuss events that were proposed for exclusion
from 2008 following consultation with sports federations.

The rumours are that mixed doubles badminton and team synchronised
swimming and not the walks may be removed from the programme, but you
can never tell.

They would say whether walking is to be debated (though IAAF's Lamine
Diack is in Lausanne) or the likely outcome, which will be by
tomorrow afternoon - I'll keep you informed.
