So I spent an hour at Colegio Benelcazar yesterday and I have some good news and bad news.

The good news is we got approved to play on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5-7 pm.

The bad news is that it will cost $25 and hour (of course they made me wait 30 mins between delivering those 2 pieces of information)

 

The principal is the only one who could approve us under the table. Perez and I wrote a moving letter on why we should be able to play there. The secretary, Myriam said he read it, was unmoved and when she mentioned that we played there last year for free, he said someone had torn up the nets (I told her our game doesn not involve nets.)

 

I asked Myriam what it would take for me to talk to the man, Raul Gordon, who is seemingly never there, and it seems like it would involve calling her and then sitting in the waiting room for a few hours. That is impossible for me both logistically and spiritually. I would love it if someone else could give me a hand with this -- try to get him on the phone or meet with him and give him $200 or something.

 

It also seems a bit like a lost cause.

 

Can we negotiate something with those fields on the corner of Republica and Eloy Alfaro?

 

In the meantime I will see EVERYONE at the Carolina today at 5.
