Hey folks

I am working out a deal to get us a range of club shirts in, collared, dry fit
type material and all that...obviously maroon for Qld. Will be able to get a
range of sizes as they will be cheap enough.

Just wondering if we have 100% setlled on a design for the logo...Im thinking
the logo on the front left and 'Queensland' on the back in big writing with BDGC
written smaller above it.

Let me know what you all think

Hi all,

This last quote has a tab down the bottom with the ocean shipping price, much cheaper ~$135 a basket.  As it is christmas time and we are all probably poor from buying presents I suggest the ocean freight method.

Bruce are you okay with people giving you the money and then paying for it?  I don't have that much cash left on my Credit Card.  If you are then I suggest that everyone who wants a basket send you a private email to get your banking details as you probably don't want them advertised around.

Hey Darnley,

I have attached an updated quote to this email for you guys to look over. There are two tabs now at the bottom, the first is for (13) Mach Lites shipped via IPS, and the second is for (13) Mach Lites shipped via ocean freight. The ocean freight may take a few more days in transit, but appears to be much cheaper! Please just let me know your thoughts and we can go from there. Thanks Darnley and I look forward to hearing back from you!

Hey Darnley,

I have attached a quote for (13) Mach Lite portable baskets being shipped to Brisbane, Australia. Please let me know if there are any questions or concerns regarding the information. I know that we will be increasing our prices next year on our portable basket models, so getting the order in before the end of the year would give you the current 2011 pricing.

I am also in the process of getting a quote via ocean freight from our freight broker for the (13) Mach Lites on a pallet, but it may take a day or so for her to get back to me, but I will let you know as soon as I hear something. The current shipping price is quoted from IPS Parcel.

Please just let me know your thoughts on the current quote and we can go from there Darnley. Thanks and I will talk to you soon!

Hi Nick,

I was just speaking with the other guys in my Disc golf group and the president of the club wants to know how much for 13 baskets.  The club currently has 5 and we were thinking that with 13 more we could set up the portable baskets at some of the object courses around here and start doing more regular comps to promote the sport.  Also we are affiliated with the ultimate club here in Brisbane and they may be willing to donate some of there cash to get us the gear.  So can I get a quote for 13 of the Mach lite baskets please.

Thanks heaps.

Good day Darnley,

My name is Nick and I am with the Disc Golf Association (DGA). I received your online inquiry regarding shipping a few baskets over to Brisbane and am happy to help you out! For starters, we do ship to Australia, the only thing is that shipping prices tend to be a bit high. This is because when shipping internationally, weights are determined off of dimensions, and because we are shipping disc golf baskets, the dimensions can at some times be quite large.

So with that said, I have put together (3) separate quotes for you and have attached them to this email. You can see that there are three tabs at the bottom of the attached excel book, each with its own quote. It is typically cheaper to ship Mach Lite baskets in increments of two, because we can package them together. We also can offer price breaks based off of the quantity of Mach Lites purchased (see below).

1-      Mach Lite = $90.00

2(or more)      = $85.00

6(or more)      = $80.00

Due to the dimensions and because we have to ship the poles with the permanent style mach baskets (the Mach V), shipping tends to run a bit high as well. If you were looking for (9) or more permanent style baskets, I would suggest shipping via pallet. And that would be a quote I would have to request from our freight broker if needed. The current shipments are quoted using IPS Parcel, which tends to be the cheapest when shipping to Australia.

If you have any questions or concerns, please just let me know. I hope we can work something out to get you all some proper baskets and would be happy to provide more quotes if need be. Please just get back to me with your thoughts and we can go from there. Thank you so much Darnley for your inquiry and I really do look forward to working with you all! Take care and I will talk to you soon! Cheers!!!

OK, folks... This is how it stands. I am ordering baskets tomorrow. The following need to pay by emailing me to confirm commitment, and to receive bank details, and by paying by EFT:
Darnley - $135
Jason G - $135
Matt H - $135
Nate - $270

Pls email me, not the group: bro.frzb at gmail dot com.

When I get the delivery date, I'll let you know, but they will be coming by sea, so it will be a wee while... If the quote shaves anything further off the price per basket, I'll refund cash on delivery.

Committee Folks,

You will have seen the email traffic on basket purchase. I have tacit support from QUDA for some of the cost for these, but we are required to show them that we're serious about what we are and where we want to be. I need to put a plan to them in the new year to get their formal support, and I need to put some budget to that. I also need to work out how I get the money back for the rest of the baskets cost; as well as tees, signs, etc to make the course more inviting.

We need to re-energise the planning that we started a while back, and get some direction back into our group. How are all placed to meet on weekend 7,8 Jan - say Sat lunch after the morning round? Pls advise by Saturday.

I have cc'd the general group, so that if you're interested in contributing or helping direct your sport, please email me to ensure that you are on further correspondence.

to get back to me, but I will let you kno

I'll bring one along on Saturday. They come in an easy-tote bag, and are pretty good at catching discs (although I swear that I nailed one bang-on on the 105m 10th at Geelong, and it spat it back!!!).

Please read below if you're looking to play the Qld event, or even better, a number of A tier events this year. The Qld Disc Golf Championships have been set down for last weekend in July. Put in your diaries NOW...

To: aus-discgolf@yahoogroups.com

All,

As of 2012, all ADGTour A-Tier events will require players registered in the Open and Advanced divisions to hold current PDGA memberships in order to enter and compete in the event. This decision has been made to ensure that, for players competing at these levels, there is a suitable mechanism by which to ensure placement of players into appropriate divisions for the fairness of the other players. This is an area on which ADG has received significant feedback from players requesting a definitive means of ensuring who should be in which division.

As described in the Membership Divisions section of our website, male players holding a PDGA rating of 935 or greater and female players with a PDGA rating of over 800 are obligated to compete in the Open division. Players with a lower rating may still choose to compete in the Open division if desired.

ADG, through its partnership with the PDGA is able to offer discounted PDGA memberships to its players. These discounts are available only when registered through ADG on our Membership Website. ADG offers its International Membership which includes PDGA membership for just $30 per year for amateur players and $40 per year for professional players. If you are a new PDGA member you can add PDGA Membership Discs which includes a Disc and Mini for an extra $20 and also optionally a subscription to the PDGA Magazine for $55 more.

You must hold a current PDGA membership before competing in your first A-Tier event as an Advanced or Open player. For those who need to renew their membership please do so at our Membership Website as soon as possible. Don't worry, we will recognise you as a renewal and you won't lose your existing ADG number. We submit memberships to the PDGA in batches, in order to ensure your membership is current prior to the start of the tour year, please renew your membership prior to Friday January 27th 2012.

Winners in each division of the ADGTour 2011 have received a free membership renewal including a PDGA membership, for those winners be sure not to renew twice!

Finally, a reminder for everyone to please advise ADG (membership@...) if you will be changing your division for the ADGTour 2012 year since you must select your competing division prior to competing in your first event. In particular, please check your rating to see if you may be required to move up a division. Best of luck to all competitors in the coming ADGTour year.

Regards

Paul Arden

BDGC folk,

The schedule of main events for 2012 is below. Try to get to some, they are fun events, and it's good to meet other players, and see their approach to playing holes that maybe you hadn't thought of; and try different courses yourself. Any questions about getting to other events, where to stay, etc, talk to Tim, Rick, me...

I have cc'd the general group, so that if you're interested in contributing or helping direct your sport, please email me to ensure that you are on further correspondence.

Folk,

I have had request for 8am start in lieu of after-round to allow some folk to attend. Please advise if you intend to come, but can't make either before or after round (say 11.30 to 12.30).

Hi folks,

Can you please set aside next Saturday morning for golf at 9am, followed by discussion on 2012 (& beyond) plans for BDGC. If you want to be a part in making disc golf better for yourself and your mates, come along.

I will put out an agenda by wednesday this week, so if you want something discussed, let me know.
