Hi everyone, a couple of things:

First, I am moving the Ice Weasels mailing list off of Yahoogroups.  My new
host for mitcharf.com has some nice mailing list software installed, and it
won't have all of the ads that Yahoogroups tags onto our messages.  The new
mailing list is pvtsoftball@....  Ideally this change will be
transparent to all of you, apart from the different list address and the
lack of ads attached to the e-mails.  However, I want each of you to do me a
favor to make sure that nothing has gone awry.  I am sending this message to
the old mailing list.  Once I see that it has been distributed to the list
(probably in a couple minutes), I will send a second e-mail to the new
mailing list.  If you receive this first e-mail, but not the second one,
please let me know.  Wait at least 20-30 minutes after receiving this first
e-mail before alerting me, in case the second one is just slow to arrive.

Anyway, let me know if you have any questions about that.  I'm going to be
doing the same thing to the pvtpractice list, so you can expect to see a
message about that in the relatively near future.  Sorry about the spam, but
I think this will be nicer for all of us.  No ads, and Yahoogroups can be
pretty slow at times.  Assuming the new list works out for the next couple
weeks, I'll get rid of the Yahoogroups list entirely.

The other thing I wanted to mention is the Fall post-season tournament.
We're doing pretty well this season, and barring a disastrous collapse we
should at least get 2nd place.  Our goal is 1st place, of course, and if we
play well we can get it.  But either way, we'll be able to play in the
tournament.  The tournament is being held on the weekend of December
6th-7th.  Please try to keep that weekend open if possible.  It would be
nice if we could have our entire regular season roster play in the
tournament.  If you know right now that you won't be able to play that
weekend, please let me know.

Thanks a lot.  And great game last night, Weasels -- it was a lot of fun,
and very impressive.  I'll be updating the web page soon, I promise.  The
reason it hasn't been updated in a while is because I'm adding a lot of new
stuff to it -- you can look forward to expanded rankings on the Liderboard,
individual roster pages for each player, individual pages for each of our
opponents, and more.  I will let you know once it's done.

I don't have a final roster for Winter season yet, but it seems likely that
we'll have 12 people again.  The total season cost will be $223, which comes
to $18.59 per person.  I want to try and collect as much of this in advance
as possible, before I register us in a couple weeks.  So if you're in for
Winter season, please pay me as soon as you can.  If we end up having to go
with a 10 person roster it would be $22.30 each, so I'd need to collect an
additional $3.71 from each of you, but I think we'll probably have 12.  So
for now, please pay me $18.59 (or pay me $22.30 and I will credit you for
the next season if we have a 12 person roster).

Also, if you have not yet paid Carrie for Fall, please do so ASAP.

The first link may continue to work for a day or two, and the second link

Great Summer II season everyone.  This was the Weasels' fourth season at the
low intermediate level, and we played competetively against most teams in
our league.  Although our record was 3-5, it could easily have been 6-2 if
we'd played just a little better or had better luck.  For the Fall season
we're going back down to low novice, but we are facing two former
opponents -- the Stingers and the Flamingoes.  You may be happy to note that
there are NO 6:30 games in our league for the Fall.  The web page has been
completely updated, both the the Summer II final results, and the Fall
schedule.  Our first game is next Thursday against the Flamingoes at 8:20pm
on Havins Field #1.

Once again, good job this season.  The Weasels are getting better and
better.  If we practice, and can keep a consistent roster of players, we can
do very well.
