work party at Vernonia Bike Park - Sun, Nov 30th   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #14662 of 15972 |
Looking for something to do with the visiting relatives still hanging around
in town after Thanksgiving? Bring 'em to a good ol' fashioned bike skill
park work party in Vernonia! The paved trails around Vernonia Lake are fun
for the kids and for the more adventurous, the trail links into the
Banks-Vernonia Linear State Park.

It's a work party! You can drop in when you'd like and stay as long as
you'd like.

Sign-in at the check-in table, then head over to skill area to see how you
can jump in and help. Main crew will be there from 9am - 4pm. *Focus will
be on the beginner skill area. Will be building features using variety of
materials. Tasks include:*

- design and arrange armored/paved section of monkey-brick pavers between
features
- lay out and secure rungs with the use of a cordless drill/screwdriver
(bring a cordless drill with torq "star" bits)
- need someone to help photo-document the work party
- need someone with small truck (with good clearance) to transport bricks
from one side of park to work site
- Have some creative ideas for features? We'd love to hear them... and
even help build it...

For driving directions to project site, see work party event calendar
details<http://westsidetrailfederation.org/index.php?option=com_extcalendar&Item\
id=73&extmode=view&extid=95

Hope to see ya there! Rain, or shine. * Will have popup tents covering some
of the work zones* - certain tasks are done in limited space so tent can
cover the site.

Vision for start of beginner skill line...
